My husband ******* ***** contacted Aaron Michael Services via phone (###-###-####) and "Tom" went to do an estimate for us at ** **** ** ******* ** *****. He did the estimate, and said he would do the job (some carpentry and extermination) for $1091.34. He said that he would not start the job until we paid him 50% down, either cash or check, no credit cards. Because we do not live locally, we mailed him a check immediately for $545.67. He cashed the check on January 19th. He was aware that we do not live in Buffalo but our realtor would let him into the house and we gave him the realtor's phone number. The job was set to be done January 20th. Per the estimate, (which is attached and states job will start 1/20 at 9 am) we told the realtor that the job would start around 9 am. She was at ** **** St waiting when Tom texted her at 9:45 am asking her to let him into the house in the afternoon. She wasn't able to go back later, so he said he would refund our money and stopped responding to her texts. She was attempting to reschedule with him, telling him rescheduling really was no problem. ***** began texting him and Tom was firm that he would not do the job. He said he would make us a check refund. After some time passed we didn't receive the refund so ***** reached out to Tom again. Tom said his accounting department was behind but would mail the check on February 11th. A week passed and we still did not receive the check. We live in New York, and mail between our residence in Nesconset and Buffalo only takes a few days (for example: we mailed him a check on the 14th and he cashed it on the 19th) so this was concerning. ***** reached out to Tom again, and he was rude, condescending, and patronizing to *****, who was telling Tom how badly we need our money returned to us. Tom said he wasn't going to waste any more of his on us. It is now February 24th, over one month since he cashed our check and did NOT do any work at all, and we still have no received our refund.
