I took my vehicle to Della ***** today in Queensbury because yesterday my keys locked inside the car while it was running and I have my extended warranty through them. I went to pick my son up from daycare left the ac on and car running went back out to a locked car. The car shouldn’t lock with the keys in it. My ***** app on my phone wouldn’t work either to unlock the car so I figured maybe there was something wrong. I called ***** yesterday and made an appointment to bring it in this morning and they got me right in first thing. I went there and they provided me with a list of “issues” seen below totaling to almost 3k. This did not sit right with me considering just two and half weeks ago I had my car at ****** ***** for a full NYS inspection and it passed with flying colors. I called ****** ***** and told them what was going on and they insisted I bring it in because they wanted to look at it all again free of charge. They ran the same tests and looked at the vehicle and nothing that was told to me by Della was accurate. They checked everything on the list I was given at Della and again everything looked fine. The video Della ***** showed me of my car didn’t show me told me the Serpentine belt was dry rotted, my battery was in the red, and my breaks front and back were in the red. None of this was accurate or true.Review from Donald T

I want to start this review by addressing the good, the salesman at Della ********** was excellent especially for being the only one at the dealership at the time and all of the employees have been friendly. however that's about all that has been good at this location. I had to wait almost two weeks to purchase the car (used 2017 **** *****) because it hadn't been through the shop yet by the time they listed it for sale and I agreed to purchase it. after purchasing it while driving home from the dealership the low coolant lamp came on and when parked I could smell coolant and saw some dripping from underneath. I purchased this car on August 23rd and it is now September 25th and it is still down in the shop being worked on for the same coolant leak. so I have been without the vehicle since I purchased it a month ago. Because it is an "Exotic" vehicle they needed to outsource to have the work done properly according to service and the tech working on it was out last week sick. I contacted them today and was told it should be done this week but I've been told that before so hopefully it is. I'm sure that if you buy a new or used ********** the experience might be better but if you buy a used European car like the dozens they sell, good luck.Review from Valencia M

Looking to purchase a used vehicle. No bank would accept the loan except one bank. When I called Della Honda to find out the status of the loan, I was told the previous statement, and then the young man I spoke to told me that I did not make enough money. I am a property owner with three other family members. In which case, the mortgage is split. The one bank offered an interest rate 17.86% for a monthly payment of about $ 750 something for a vehicle, fees, taxes $34,789. If I did not make enough income (over $85,000) due to my mortgage, then why would one bank even offer me to pay at a rate of 17.86% for monthly payment of $750 something. Their argument does not make sense. If the income was not enough, then no offer should have been make by any bank at all. I believe this experience is racially charge, and full of discrimination. Although the Senior Financial Representative presented himself in a polite disposition, the financial practices were not. As an African American women who is over 55 years of age, I can detect unfair practices that businesses utilize to exploit people, especially people of color. I do not recommend African Americans to go to this business.DELLA Automotive, Inc Response

Good Afternoon, Banks determine the credit worthiness of applicants. Dealerships do not. The fact that the applicant's mortgage is "split" does not ensure a favorable approval or rate if there is not a signed lease in place and a proven payment history from the family members. An applicant's credit approval/rate is based on proven and contractual income. The fact that only one bank would approve the application supports the offered rate. We want all our customers to have the lowest interest rates possible. But first, they need to qualify for the best rates. We are in the business of assisting all customers regardless of gender, race or religion. Further comment is not necessary. Ernie G****** DELLA North Platform Manager ###-###-####Review from Andrea B

I went with Della because that is where my family typically would go for their vehicles. This was a mistake. I was confident that I could get financing and consented to their staff running my credit once. I made it clear that I do. My credit was good until after the transaction I see SEVEN INQUIRIES on my ******** credit report all from that same day. I called to speak with Ryan W****** to see if this was a mistake. He tells me "oh we use a company called ***** **** that checks many lenders but only runs your credit once." Clearly this is false because my credit report shows 7 inquiries from that same day. I called ******** to tell this story and they deflect saying that I have to call company that ran my credit to have these extra inquiries removed. I even called to speak with the owner Christopher Della Bella who shrugged off my complaint saying the inquiries fall off in 2 years anyway. If that wasn't enough, Mr Della Bella emailed me a link to the ******** website regarding the duration of inquiries. These companies and their owners don't care about the customer and they think you're a sucker. Nothing has been resolved and they don't care. **DELLA WILL DAMAGE YOUR CREDIT** I also had the same experience as a complaint below from Stephen regarding an item labeled aftermarket. I also asked what it was for, the salesman said it was for appearance protection, and undercoating. I also wanted the $1,294 removed for this service. Yet they insisted it can't be removed/waived. This experience of buying a brand new vehicle left me feeling disgusted and used. I will never buy from them again and discourage everyone from going their again. **AVOID DELLA AUTOMOTIVE**DELLA Automotive, Inc Response

Beware of Della Toyota and this "family" of dealerships! The family of your nightmares. They cannot be trusted. Facts: Della did not inspect the used car we purchased from them in March and we had to bring the car back on MULTIPLE occasions before they (finally) fixed the brakes - and that cost us lots of time and money bringing it to them from out of state! Their (very) poor service was evidenced by their (ongoing) track record of shortcutting things. They should have properly inspected and fixed the car BEFORE they sold it to us. We recently learned from a professional mechanic that the tires they had on the car when they sold it to us were unsafe (cracked between the treads) AND that the rear springs were broken (and had been for quite a long time). Also, the calipers are leaking! Della pushed this vehicle out the door - without fixing what needed fixing - at our expense! They said to bring it back to them AGAIN - and then wanted to charge me approx. $2,000 to fix the issues they NEVER inspected or addressed in the first place. They are unethical, so steer clear! They prey on their customers and are exactly what's bad with car dealerships.Review from Tyler W.

I’ll start off with the good part first. My salesman, Matt C***** was terrific. He was knowledgeable, honest and a pleasure to work with through my entire experience. If every other dealer besides Della goes out of business and you’re required to buy a vehicle here Matt is the guy to ask for. Now for the fun part… I ordered a truck back in October of 2021. As we all know nothing is quick these days so it finally came in at the end of May 2022. All was well throughout the ordering and waiting process. I was quoted $31k for my trade in February with the understanding that the value would likely go down some due to putting more miles on my vehicle. Understandable. Fast forward to a few weeks ago when my new truck arrives. At this time, 4 months after my $31k quote I am offered $21k for my trade in. That is $10k less! Nothing different with my truck besides the expected extra miles. This was the work of the General Sales Manager Micheal T****. He obviously knew I wasn’t leaving my without my new truck and figured it was a great opportunity to low ball me. When I told him I would be selling my truck elsewhere he attempted to sell my new truck that I ordered 8 MONTHS AGO to someone with “a better trade in”. Then proceeded to demand I tell him who was buying my vehicle for fair market value. To top it all off they charged me $400 to swap my new wheels before I picked up the vehicle. For reference, Walmart charges $25/tire for this work. The exciting experience of buying a brand new vehicle turned out to be stressful and unpleasant due to Micheal T****. DO NOT BUY FROM DELLA. DO NOT DEAL WITH MICHEAL T****.Customer Response

*EDIT*- The Project Manager at Della, Allen, was nice enough to call me personally and try to resolve this issue. He asked if I would take the review down from everywhere I posted it and in return he would like to offer me some free service work on my vehicle. I’m not really sure what kind of service work my brand new 2022 ****** will need in the near future but I assured him that doing what I could to save people from getting taken advantage of at their dealership was more important to me than $200 in oil changes. This phone call did nothing but reiterate the exact reason I felt compelled to write a review in the first place.Review from Stephen o

I was helping my granddaughter buy a car from Della. After agreeing 0n a price we were given an itemized list of costs. There was an item labeled aftermarket. I asked what it was for, the salesperson said it was for appearance protection, and undercoating . I told him I didn't want to spend $1,294 for this service. He said it was company policy that used cars sold had to purchase this service. I told him this was BS and I didn't want the service. We went back and forth for quite a while. He insisted it was a company policy and he couldn't change it. By this time my grand daughter was getting stressed and upset. I didn't want should have been a happy purchasing experience for her to be a stressful battle between buyer and seller, just wanted to get it over with. I submitted to buy the after market services. If I was buying it for myself I would have walked out the door and taken my business elsewhere. Just a warning to other potential Della customers, make sure you read and understand the EXTRA charges. If you don't want the service and the dealership insists you get it, head for the door. There are many reputable dealers out there you shouldn't have a hard time finding one. I could go on for days about this place. After being sold a car that smelt like cigarettes and was never cleaned or detailed, to being told there was a ****** on the car I traded in (when there wasn’t, they just wanted to low ball me on my trade). To having my sales man talk about my finances and my car deal with people around town. To the general sales manager raising his voice at me in his office and grabbing my phone out of my hands, and proceeding to yell at my parents on the phone. I walked out of his office to get away from the situation and he proceeded to follow me, making smart remarks. To making me buy back my trade for $2,500 more than what they gave me because they did “body work” and put 4 new tires on the vehicle…. By body work, they mean hitting my car with a hammer and making it look worse than it did before. They lie non stop, don’t take accountability for anything or apologize.Review from Aaron E

To the representative who replies, no I will not call you. Try reaching out to the customers you treat so poorly and fix your mistakes. If zero stars were an option you wouldn't deserve it. After an accident it has taken 2 months and repairs are still not complete. Additionally they couldn't even take the time to actually do the correct repairs while receiving a blank check from the insurance company, it's free money. To make it better the repairs they did do were not done correctly and the car had to be taken back and I was charged for the repair. Really shows you how much you care about people and your business.Review from Rosanna S.

I just want to let people out there know that when you're buying a vehicle from Della Mitsubishi make sure you do your homework and check everything on that vehicle I got a vehicle about a month ago pre-qualified SUV it was a 2009 ********* I want to let everybody know that I've had problems with my tires on the vehicle and I have brought it to their attention four times I've been through the Lemon Law I have been through the main corporate office and all I get is that I would have to buy the tires my car has now been shaking in the front for months now and all they've done is a front alignment that didn't work they said I had a choppy Tire they put that in the back they told me that all the tires are balanced when the tires was put on wrong but they won't do what they should do is buy me the right tires for that vehicle I mean I have a broken belt in one of my tires and when I went to Mitsubishi to tell him again for the 4th time that I still had problems I told me it was my problem that I have to buy the tires I want to let everybody out there know I would stay clearly away from this company this dealership is not going to help you all they're all about is how much money they can make it's not about the customer anymore and like I told him if I'm ever in an accident if something happens to me at least I know I have documents showing that I was telling them I had a problem with one of my tires and then when I do try to get it fixed I'm just told to live with it this dealership is not all about the customers are about the moneyDELLA Automotive, Inc Response

Dear BBB, We have spent quite a bit of money and time addressing Ms. *******.s concerns. Her tires were 80% when she took delivery and we then provided a free rotation and alignment when she said she felt vibrations. Addidtionally, we provided her a warranty and free oil changes for her inconvenience. We regret she is still unhappy after all our efforts to remedy her concerns. Thank you for alerting us.
