Standards for Charity Accountability
Lollypop Farm, Humane Society of Rochester and Monroe County meets the 20 Standards for Charity Accountability.
"to build lifelong bonds between people and animals through education, community outreach programs, and the prevention of cruelty."
Incorporated: 1873 in NY
Also Known As: Humane Society of Lollypop Farm , Lollypop Farm
As an open admission shelter, Lollypop Farm accepts every animal who is brought to their facility; no animal is denied admission for any reason. Each year, nearly 12,000 animals from dogs and cats to rabbits, birds, horses, goats, pigs and more are surrendered or admitted to the shelter. While these animals are there, the staff and volunteers strive to provide the highest quality medical care and enrichment. The modern facility and meticulous standard operating procedures ensure cleanliness and minimize the spread of illness. Additionally, they provide high-quality food to all animals, and daily enrichment and training helps keep them mentally fit while in care. To find permanent, loving homes for these pets, Lollypop Farm strives to provide an adoption experience that considers important details for finding the right fit for each adopter, such as a person's home, interests, and lifestyle. They then match those with an animal's social, exercise, and training needs. Their adoption counselors will work with prospective families to ensure happy, successful adoptions that last a lifetime.
In addition to sheltering services they also run a veterinary clinic, provide numerous programs to help people with their pets, and have one the most active humane law enforcement departments in New York State. They have three peace officers who enforce NYS animal cruelty laws, investigating cases of neglect, and when possible, educating the community on proper animal care.
