Consumers who've contacted the company are told that in order to qualify for the free tickets they have to attend a 90-minute presentation at Southwest Travel or any number of other similar agencies across the country. The airline tickets are redeemable for one year at a fee of $50 per ticket for flight taxes.

The BBB contacted South West Travel to discuss their affiliation with Patterson Bell. The phone was answered by Hoffman Sims, who stated they are a third party booking agency for various travel clubs. BBB was unable to speak with a representative who could answer questions concerning the affiliation between Patterson Bell and South West Travel. Upon further investigation, BBB found a Hoffman Sims Website at www.hoffmansims.com., which appeared to be identical to the web site belonging to Patterson Bell. The Website for Patterson Bell was later changed and bears no physical resemblance to Hoffman Sims, but does list much of the same, and in some cases identical, information in certain sections of the site.
In January 2010 BBB began receiving information from consumers indicating they've received similar letters from a company going by the name Sutton Perry and Richardson Blake. Letters from the businesses are identical. The Web site for Richardson Blake, www.richardsonblake.com, is identical to Hoffman Sims web site and the Web site previously used by Patterson Bell.
