Purchased a 16 SEER Rheem AC/GasFurnace unit from Continental AC and Heating, INC in March of 2015. At the time, they were smiley, nice and prompt with contract/install. Contract states 10 yr warranty on parts and 5 years on repairs. Told us that they registered the unit with Rheem for us. After install, this company went MIA. Could not get ahold of for service/repairs/free filters they offered us. Phone number went to a Spanish-speaking Mexican lady who had no idea what we were talking about. Business location changed. Zero communication. Website (www.continentalacandheating.com) redirects to a totally different AC company not affiliated with Continental. Two years later, Continental calls us to schedule AC check up and coil clean and charges us for it. Then, again, went MIA. Since 2017, we've had to pay two other companies for AC service, parts and repairs. Found out this week that the unit needs a new main board. My current AC company told me that Continental never registered the unit with Rheem, so Rheem will not honor 10 yr warranty on parts, only 5, which is now expired. The main board, with install. is $1500. Highly expensive. So, looked up Continental again via Google. Looks like they've resurfaced as Continental Elite Air Inc. Previous phone number and current phone number now work, but each redirect to a different phone number where no one picks up. This company should cover the cost of the main board replacement, any other parts needed - PLUS install for all the hassle, and extra costs with other companies, that we've been through since installation. This unit is only 8 years old and SHOULD have a 10 year parts warranty as agreed upon in contract. The company had assured us that that registered it online with Rheem for the 10 yr warranty and gave us paperwork that seemed as if they did. However, when entered on Rheem's system, it says it was only for 1 year. Highly disingenuous.
