Complaint Delivered the chandeliers with a very short cord, even though they knew the ceiling was very high. and came and measured the ceiling height We purchased eleven chandeliers- 8 average priced and 3 expensive chandeliers. The chandeliers that were delivered had missing parts and it took them a long time to fix this problem.
We had specified exactly where we would like the height of the chandelier to be. Even after the merchant visited the property several times and took measurements of the ceiling height, the 3 expensive chandeliers that were delivered had very unacceptable short cords.
After installation, the merchant asked for extra money to do the correct height of the chandeliers.
This ********* practice is unacceptable as they already knew the height after multiple visits and now making us pay extra to get a longer cord as well installation which customer paid for as well.
Desired Settlement Replace the short cord of the 3 expensive chandeliers with acceptable cord length to the customer. Installation of the new cord needs to be done as well, as customer paid for that.
If not, customer will accept full refund of chandeliers as well as installation refund since customer paid for that as well.
Business Response ****** called our office. She stated the chandeliers were ordered by you in May of 2013 & delivered Nov. 2013. These were installed by your builder, a separate company. The length of wire was standard for these items & she offered to order another set & they would install them but you'd have to pay for the materials. You refused this, instead wanting a refund. Apparently, you were also unhappy with the crystals, which weren't hung by the builder until 6 months later. The crystals were what was within the price you paid. She then offered to take the chandeliers back on consignment only & they would re-sell them. You refused this also. There will be no refund given.
Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) The company response is NOT satisfactory.
As you can see Gross Electric had stated (with their own wording) that it took 7 MONTHS to deliver the chandeliers. They were well aware of the height and length that we required for our home, as ****** visited the home many times. Not only did it take Gross Electric almost a whole year to deliver the goods, but there was also material that was missing from the order.
The situation at hand is that Gross Electric did not get us the proper wiring that we agreed on, it is definitely not about the crystals and what the builder did. If she is unable to get us the wiring we initially asked for then she should have issued a refund. We had actually asked for a refund, as Gross Electric has written in their statement, but that was never given. Gross Electric did not want to resolve the situation. Again, this has nothing to do with the builder and Gross Electric should stop projecting on to someone else and should take responsibility for their actions.
If these were "standards" then why even come to our home multiple times to take measurements of the height? If these were "standards" then she would have explained this and we wouldn't have ordered it or we would have ordered something else.
The original agreement was we would have our chandeliers sitting at a particular height. Since this was not given, of course we wanted a refund. Instead of giving us the refund or supplying the correct wiring and resolving the issue - Gross Electric blatantly ignored our multiple phone calls.
The fact of the matter is Gross Electric either purchased the wrong wire or decided to make us buy a shorter wire so she could profit off us buying a longer wire and additionally to pay for installation. We paid full price for these chandeliers and these were really expensive chandeliers.
Of course we would not pay more to Gross Electric when we already had an agreement and already gave our payment for it. It wouldn't make sense to continue to pay Gross Electric when they could not deliver what we had agreed upon the first time around. Her solution of having a consignment basis is a joke and absolutely ridiculous. It reflects how Gross electric is disrespectful to her customers. Her offer was for her to KEEP the chandeliers and put it in her store and wait for someone to buy it. She stated to my family and I that not many customers buy such expensive chandeliers and I most likely WILL NOT get my money and if i did it would take years.
To reiterate, Gross electric still refuses to take responsibility for supplying the wrong length cords for the chandeliers as you can even tell in their own statement as they never provided a refund or did an exchange for proper wiring.
Final Business Response I talked with ****** on Oct 1st. She stated the chains just came in from the manufacturer the day before. She will get these shipped out through UPS & you should have them early next week.
Final Consumer Response Consumer confirmed receipt of the chains but without the accompanying wires, they are unable to hang the chains. Consumer wants the wires needed for the chains.
