********* Supplier Complaint to BBB I believe we were taken advantage of by the chief administrator and over-zealous presenter of The Assistance Home Care Service in March 2024. We were expected to pay over $11,000 for unsupervised and often unnecessary home care workers occupying our home. The time of signing for 24/7 home care was quite stressful. I was just out of emergency heart surgery and certainly not mentally nor emotionally prepared to make a decision, especially with the shock of my wifes heart failure (2/22/2024) and start of hospice care. The need for 24/7 private care was urged as necessary. I should have expected a program of care to coincide with the *** hospice teams care. However, no specific plan or following administrative support was provided. Just a continual parade of different caretaker personnel who had no disciplined approach. After a week need for oxygen and catheter ceased. My wife was using the bathroom with my limited assistance. Night caretakers were no longer necessary. They just camped out providing little or no help. The caretakers had their own ways of doing things and reorganized supplies, confusing everything. I cancelled all the company's service the week of March 11. But it didnt change the invoices. My bank statement revealed they already had charged and received full payment on the over $11,000 amount. I suggested that management review the problems and reconsider their charges. I was willing to pay for early involvement but not for the total, which was not justified. Again, I firmly believe I was taken advantage of when not in shape emotionally and mentally to accept the commitment. The ** of Operations did agree to reduce charges by $2000, and promised a check to reimburse that amount. But of course they backed out of the offer and refused further consideration. No "assistance" at all. Bad service. Bad timing. Bad choice.

This company was hired to care for my 88 year old mother who had Alzheimers and lung disease. The majority of the staff were unskilled and untrained. At the start of Covid the company would not provide masks until staff member after staff member contracted covid. My mother had to be continuously tested due to their employees. We began providing masks that were often not worn or worn incorrectly. My mom would not have survived Covid. By the time AHC got on board with providing masks, the death toll was rapidly climbing. I would say they were very late to the party. Subs with little to no training were dropped into the home with no education on how to work the oxygen tanks or the medications in addition to understandings of light switches, microwave, thermostats, etc. My mother was left to lie in soiled sheets, took a fall as the AHC employee watched TV in the next room and was subjected to one unskilled employee after another as their staff turned over and over. The owner has an answer for all of it. He listens intently and even solicits recommendations from the family. He then, sends in another one of his unskilled and underpaid staff for more of the same. You are not going to get quality when you pay MacDonald wages. Unfortunately, these well intended but unskilled people are not working with hamburger meat. The quality starts at the pay scale. Every now and again, you would get a qualified person on the job. They, however were not getting paid their worth, knew it and complained about it. So, while they were excellent at the job they were unhappily underpaid, unappreciated and would eventually leave. AHC was mostly a no win, a stressor and in several instances a danger to our mother. AHC is a NO

We appreciated the opportunity to serve your family with round the clock care for the past 4 years. Providing care for your mom was a blessing and an honor to help achieve your familys wishes to keep your mom at home. Managing private duty home care and staffing during a pandemic certainly provided numerous and unforeseen challenges for everyone involved and while many people have been impacted by Covid, we do believe that our extensive safety protocols played a significant part in keeping your mom COVID free during the entire time that we provided care. At the onset of the pandemic, it was all but impossible to locate and source the KN95 masks that you requested, however, we responded quickly and did provide surgical masks and gloves to all of our employees to ensure a safe environment for everyone involved. Our goal has always been to have a consistent team of Care Professionals for our clients. Many of our Care Pros were with your mom for years and were truly dedicated to her. However operating during a pandemic, we implemented a very strict pre-visit screening procedure for all of our employees entering our clients homes in order to minimize / prevent any possible exposures. As a result of our protocols, we had to introduce team members outside of your moms regular and dedicated care team with little or short notice when one of our team members had a cough, fever, possible Covid exposure, death in the family, etc. Our office went to extreme lengths to ensure that each shift was staffed and your moms care needs met during this challenging time. We completely agree that our Care Pros should receive higher wages for the wonderful work and impact that they make. While it's never enough, we our proud to offer some of the highest wages in the ********* ********* market (wages that rival what Amazon is paying), along with numerous benefits such as ***************** Paternity Leave, EAP and access to *********** benefits. We thank you for the feedback you shared and while our Care Team operates in what is often a very challenging and changing environment we understand that it is critical that we continue to learn from our clients and our mistakes and do more to ensure that we put forth our best faith efforts to exceed the expectations of our families.

At first, I was impressed with their services. Then the caregivers kept getting "sick". Communication was always last minute with no real solution ever given. They TRIPLE billed my mother for services. Granted, this was corrected...but it should have never happened.I have not had services from this company in 3 weeks due to their staffing issues.
