    Sadly I had 4 agents in the first month, all trying to sell me a home via unethical practices. I was shown only 4 homes in this entire time and one agent refused to even put in an offer unless I first applied to another mortgage company issuing a VA loan with which she was associated with. My last agent would only show me 3 homes out of a list of 63 potential because she wanted "her" deal to go smoothly. Since she refused to do any due diligence on permits etc, prior to making an offer, I did my own and found multiple problems with the only property she would put an offer in on. I asked her to first address this with the seller agent to see if they would even entertain covering the outstanding fees for permits on work not permitted and the outstanding fees on an open permit from a previous owner. She said she would but then submitted the offer without disclosing the findings and told me that an inspection and the appraisal would cover this or the title agency. Why should I spend several thousand dollars for these things when a simple question could address this from the beginning and not waste anyone's time? I set up an inspection and she then decided I needed to use only her inspection person and called and rescheduled to her own person behind my back. All of these agents by the way are in the Tampa Bay Area. Another issue came up with the last agent who after providing me disclosures that stated there was no issue with the electric box, my agent demanded I pay 2k more to the sellers to replace the existing box. Her claim was it was an original **** box and that it needed to be replaced immediately. I am not an electrician but I know that a home of **** sq ft (on paper, but actually **** sq ft with unpermitted additions) wit two separate AC units would not have an original **** electric box. When I refused to agree she got indignant and tried to bully me into doing it and eventually admitted she didn't even remember seeing the box. My inspector even said he felt that she was tied to the sellers somehow and that she was definitely acting unethically. Needless to say I had to go out on my own and find an agent who knew what ethics in real estate means and also due diligence. All of these were also encouraging me to get into money pit situation by were you accept a house as is and pay the difference in cash between agreement price and the appraisal. While I had no problem with the Lending area of Veteran United... I can not and absolutely would not recommend anyone to deal with the Veterans United Realty agents. If you have to buy a home with one, do your due diligence, check permits and comparable home sale and do NOT allow them to get you into a money pit situation to make the sale.
