I had to fire my lawyer *********************** an associate from *******, Billington, ********************************* P.C.. **************** is trying to charge me $2400 for time he spent advising me on a case he denied being my attorney for. His actions led directly to me being homeless, losing my ability to see my son (week on week off custody), losing access to my property and animals. ****** went behind my back the morning I was summoned and told the other lawyer, without my knowledge, that he wasnt representing me. I had no idea. Standing in front of the judge. Yes that happened. Even though he was on retainer and was advising me on that matter. He told me what to expect, what to say, and to tell the judge he was my lawyer and that he couldnt be there in short notice. So the judge being told the opposite, made me proceed on my own. The judge said that he had to presume I was stalling because I said I had a lawyer. ****** was on a $3000 retainer. He told me afterwards he didnt think I would want to spend the money. Homeless or $1500. I would have paid. Anyone would have. Afterwards, **************** lied repeatedly to cover up his mistake. Telling me that he said he didnt know the court system in the county my divorce was in. Obviously I would have never hired him had he told me that. He told me he called me that morning. I had no missed calls and no message from him. He said that he told me that he only wanted to do a dissolution case and again I would had never hired him had he told me that. I have requested many times an itemized statement. ************************* his secretary nor ****** have provided that. They are trying to charge me a teacher and single father the only money I have. Charging me $2400 for 1 call 1 meeting (which should be charged as a first consultation) and a handful of emails mainly about my dissatisfaction. The only thing he did was to file my initial response to the court in my divorce. And I did that with his secretary in 20 minutes. Please help me.
