On 26 May 23, I contacted ******, from Palm City Yachts, to inquire about a 22' Vista View TriToon boat. After a lengthy conversation, he offered a purchase price of $50k for the boat, plus tax and a $399 service charge. He also offered to include a 7 or 9 inch GPS for the boat. After further discussion about financing and trade in, he offered $14,000 for my 2017 17' Mako pro skiff. Without him asking, I texted him several pictures of the Mako to indicate the condition, which is great, and he did not respond with any concerns. I had him send me a quote for the boat, to include all additional charges and after accepting the deal, I submitted information for financing. I picked up the boat on 9 June around ****hrs and I rushed into signing the finance docs. ****** and I performed an inspection of my trade in and no issues were raised. After 10 days, ****** called me to say that the Mako had fuel problems and he wanted $1100 to fix the boat and threatened to not send the registration for the new boat. I asked him to email an itemized list of what he says was wrong with the Mako and he did not. He did text me a very vague parts list that he says was required for the boat. This included simple connections, that should be on hand and a fuel pump that cost <$60 online. They are obviously attempting to run up the costs to get the used boat in perfect shape so they can resell. This should be part of the way they do business. Simple items should be repaired prior to sell. PCY is trying to inflate the costs of service, for a boat they now own, and pass it on to me. The boat was running. On 27 June @0852, ****** texted me stating he was putting a lien on the new boat unless I paid for "repairs" to the Mako. I ran the Mako prior to trade in and it worked fine. The engine had **40 hrs and was in perfect condition. I feel I am being fleeced for them not performing due diligence or this may be how try to operate. Threatening calls/texts should not be any company business model.
