Shady company with reps who will lie and mislead about fees, then hide charges into contract language despite assuring you that it means something else.I worked on a $75*********** financing lease with *********************. When we first began conversations, I asked him point blank if there were any additional fees for the loan other than the interest payments. He told me no. He said that I had to pay an initial deposit to cover the initial payment towards the loan. I did. Afterwards, I was told that my initial payment of $8k+ didn't even go towards covering the loan. His response: "This is standard in corporate loans." It definitely is not. When I tried to speak with a supervisor, I was told to contact customer service. I will never do business with them again and I recommend anyone against using them.Review from Blake M

Would give negative stars if I could was talked into using them by a big auction company rather than using my normal finance company. They were hard to deal with so I decided to just pay off the loan when going thru my contract with them it gives early termination fees and how much it should be but when you call them for the payoff amount it's about $9,000 more than the contract says it should be but nobody will return calls or emails to get to the bottom of it. Looks like I'll just have to let the lawyers deal with them.Review from Alicia M

Run away from this company. Ive purchased equipment through them and of course you cant buy it without having insurance so I produce the insurance and bought the equipment they make you go on ACH monthly payments, which is fine, so I really didnt pay attention and I caught up with the fact that they were not only withdrawing my monthly fee, but they were also tacking on additional insurance by the time I caught up with them They told me that they were not refunding all my money where I double paid for insurance, but they would split it with me and I had no other option so they robbed me for six months worth of insurance payments to them so on top of that I made it clear theres no way Im going on ACH withdrawals. I will send in a check every month And the woman in billing OK that but I continue to get an ACH fee because Im sending in a check I have it in writing that. They agreed to refund any additional fees on my account from one of their employees but yet I still cant get the money refund it terrible company very difficult to deal with and they should definitely be in the eyes of the Better Business Bureau because theyre rotten peopleReview from Joann S

Over the years, we have utilized several finance companies for our small business, and Balboa Capital has to be the worst. To start: most companies' statements are easy to read and make complete sense. Not Balboa; they lump multiple monthly loan amounts due on a single statement making it difficult to understand what they are doing. We've also had an issue with their claiming that they didn't receive proof of insurance so they charged us for insurance. Then when they are repeatedly given the insurance again, the reversal of charges occurs but their statements show the insurance charging again. ***** also hires their own titling company when the titling company fails to do their jobs, Balboa charges you for not having the title. If that isn't enough to steer you away, their wait time to speak with a staff member is at least 25 minutes and more (that is, if they don't disconnect from the call). So if you insist on going with Balboa and when you have an issue (and you will have issues) expect that you won't be able to speak with a person, and they also will not reply to your emails.Review from Ms M

I was going through Premier financing to purchase my first business *********** was redirected to Balboa Capital because it was a new business. I was told by ***** that my loan terms were 60 months 14% rate and it was simple interest loan and I could refinance or payoff with no penalty. After Balboa Capital sent the docu sign with the notary all he did via video call was were to sign and the monthly payments and nothing about straight purchase deal not financing. Now I am calling for the payoff they are telling me to multiply the remaining payments by the months that will be the payoff plus additional early payoff charges and fees. There was no true loan disclosures and I need help resolving the terms and conditions I was promised via email from premier financing.Review from JA B

Absolutely worst business practices out of any lending company. During COVID, all my business were shut down, I reached out to them to work through a payment plan for the short period until I was back in my feet, They immediately hired an attorney and went after all my assets.Review from chad c

Worst Company ever..they .send me a e mail saying I need to send prof of insurance. I didnt see it as I get 100 or more a day....they charge me huge no insurance fee for 4 months ...when I have isurance.....when it was discovered I called them and showed them I have insurance. they said would not credit back past 3 months as I paid in auto payment and didnt realize I was being over charged. Would not credit back...said it was my problem I didnt get the info to them sooner.....they said they sent e mai but for some reason they could not call me about the insurance problem...but they call me every month wanting to loan me more money. I would recommend anyone to stay away from this company whose business model is to entice and dupe credit worthy individuals in signing their expensive lease agreements by partnering with fraudulent vendors. The top executives of this company are bunch of privilege middle aged white men who have consistently targeted immigrants and minority populations. In 2011 they were sued by then ********** attorney general ************************* in a scam that defrauded 33 African American churches in *******************. In that scam Balboa partnered with vendors Television Broadcasting *********** Urban Interfaith Network and others. More recently in 2016 Balboa Capital partnered with a vendor called MHT (*****************) who was running a Ponzi scheme defrauding immigrant doctors. There is a pending lawsuit (for the past 5 years) regarding this scheme in the federal court. I again urge anyone to stay away from this company.
