DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR TO THIS PLACE!!! My 85 year old mother and I brought her car here, because it's right down the street. (She had known the previous owner over 30 years). She got an oil change, air filters, tire rotation and brake fluid exchange. All of this cost her $700! The guy said their labor rate is $170-something per hour! They also told her that her transmission was leaking and needed to be fixed which was labor intensive and would be $2800!!! After taking the car to another trusted mechanic who power washed the undercarriage and then told her to drive it for 2 weeks and then come back and he would check it again. This mechanic told us there was absolutely NO LEAK at all. (And his labor rate is $120 per hour). My mother was so relieved about not having to spend $2800! And her car is a 2018 Corolla. No chance this car had a transmission leak.I don't know who the owners of this place are now, BUT IT SCREAMS ELDER ABUSE!!! Taking advantage of an elderly woman to try to scam her out of almost $3,000. This place is a trap for the unknowing elderly. I would give this place ZERO stars if I could.

RE: the ********* Location:I'm seeing a theme on these 1 star posts. I wish I had read these before recommending my stepfather to go in. I advised my stepfather (75 years of age) to go based on the past experience that I had with the former business (North County Import Specialist). This business sold to Aero approx. 2 years ago. He took the car in and just believed what they said and did not get another estimate before allowing work to be done. They are not..."continuing the great service that North County Import Specialist has provided their customers since ****." I do not believe ***** (former owner of North County Import Specialist) would not be happy about this statement as this tarnishes his legacy. ******* reviews were very high - let that speak for itself. You can still view them. Do a good "compare and contrast" and save yourself the stress and heartache of being overcharged. The pricing is very high - labor cost ranges from $184.00-$192.00 per hour. I had the estimate looked at by 2 other reputable mechanics and they both advised this was overpriced. Example of overpriced part - The $89.99 distributor cap is 2-300% above normal cost. I asked **** about this part cost (advising this was way above normal) and if he could provide receipts for the "parts pricing" and I was advised that these are "confidential for the business". When I spoke to them yesterday, that gave me a line about using the best parts - ect. Their cost was way above "best parts" pricing.Another mechanic asked - was a compression test first done? I asked the same question and received the following answer: NO due to no cylinder issue plugs failed out cap was grounded off. I'm just trying to be real with my experience. We will see how the car drivers next.

Took my truck in to get the condenser replaced and two weeks later i lost all power in my transmission. Took it to the dealership and some of the lines were improperly connected causing my transmission fluid to leak and burn out my ******. They also left a huge scratch on the side of my truck and never admitted it being them or following up with security footage. This shop is terrible and a rip off, the people working there are terrible and rude, manager is the worst of them all

I was given a report from Aero Auto that my seven month old AC Delco battery had a bad cell and I needed to replace it for $186.88. As the battery was under full replacement warranty I took it to the mechanic where the battery was purchased and a diagnostic was performed showing the battery to be performing at 100%. When I called Aero Auto back (Lake ****** location) I talked with **** who said they would no longer have a copy of their diagnostic report but he was certain they were not misleading me to sell a battery. Despite the warnings I got when leaving the shop without purchasing a new battery, it has been performing perfectly.

This business is an unscrupulous crooked and corrupt business. I bring my truck in for an oil change. A couple of weeks later I started hearing intermittent odd knocking noises in my engine. I brought it back to Aero Auto Repair within the month. Mechanics says that I have major problems with my engine however he told it to me in mechanics jargon and language. He was very pleasant and seemed knowledgeable. I asked what the solutions/options are. He said engine rebuild $7000 or take the part out and replace it $8000. He actually told me that with a straight face. I decided to get a second opinion. First thing they said that there was no oil. The knocking seemed to get worse. Now thinking that my engine is shot I'm trying to decide if I want to buy a new car or just have it repaired. I felt that I could trust Aero Auto Repair because I felt that they were purposely trying to deceive me. How can I bring my vehicle in for an oil change and 2 weeks later have two options of repair. I then wrote a review and they entire occurance which you can find here https://www.yelp.com/biz/aero-auto-repair-san-diego?hrid=MkCB12bzl_h0714oAppLJQ&utm_campaign=www_review_share_popup&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=(direct)Something subtle that lends to the fact that this business is unscrupulous is the fact that they have a picture of the BBB logo in their scrolling pictures and clearly it says on the BBB site "not BBB Accredited". They want to fool people trying to make them think that are an upstanding business. NOPE!Now the newest development and revelation is that my check engine light came on. I took it to another shop preparing to spend thousands or to buy a new truck. They told me what the problem was. New mechanic mentioned as an after thought without me giving him any information that the part that he replaced was no the original part and had been replaced with one that was defective. The problem is that I never had any parts replaced. AAR was the culprit!
