On on September 1st 2021, my husband brought a 2010 Jaguar xfp to Meineke on *******************. After they were done on his way home He noticed smoke coming out of the back. He pulled over and also noticed oil coming out of the bottom of the car. He called Meineke and they told the car the next day back to the shop. They replaced the car with oil steam clean the engine and ordered a new oil filter cap from *****************. We called ***** the manager of the store, We told him we were very concerned about damage to the engine. He told us everything was fine. We had the car for three weeks and it broke down on me at a stoplight on ****************. After that it was towed to A1 tow yard yard. The date was September 30th 2021. We finally got our car from A1 Towing on October 4th 2021. The car set in our carport until December 20th 2021 because we could not afford to have it looked at by Jaguar at this time. On January 11 2022 received a call from Jaguar telling us our engine was blown. They said it was obvious it was because of the oil change. But they did not put that in writing on our receipt. We then called ***** on 1/12/22, told him what happened. He said, so, your just calling me now. We told him we didn't want to start accusing anybody till we knew what happened. After a few calls to him, I asked him what is it he needs to start this process. He said, we need the milage, oil a analysis and copy of invoice from jaguar stating what the cause of engine failure was. To find that out, jaguar would have to tear down engine, which would cost $5,000.00. No way we could afford that. Told him, that the service manager is confident that it happened cause cracked oil filter cap. The diagnostic done on car, didn't show any other problems with our car. ******, the sevice manager at *****************, said have ******************* me. *****. ***** said he would when he gets time. He didnt call him. We new it was time to contact the owner. We talked to him. Never got a call back.
