This is NOT the **** Saunders Roofing of 42 years ago. The business was sold to a person who knows next to nothing about *** roofing and refuses to provide any kind of warranty or service on a $25,000 job. They did such a terrible job that the water keeps getting under the *** and down into my house and through the plaster. The Yelp reviews are exactly the same experience as my own. I consulted 2 civil engineers and I am a materials scientist myself so I know they know nothing about the fundamentals of adhesives or *** phsyical properties and matching surface attributes. The engineers explained further structural and proper design for installingh Reglets, counter flashing thatwould have prevented this massive blunder. The original **** saunders, with whom I thought I was contracting, would have known these things. They are ignorant about all these basic structural design in installation and use of *** on the old buildings we have in Richmond and other similar cities. I am looking for a lawyer.
***I want to update some of the details on my review of Saunders Roofing for precision. The well respected founder passed on and the business was reorganized into an LLC DBA Saunders Roofing, rather than sold and is under different management, accounting for the change in policy, knowledgability, and customer service. I have reviewed all the Yelp reviews of this roofer and others had similar experiences. Some had good experiences, apparently based on the particular individuals they were working with. Some of the people were extremely helpful and tried to make the repairs and did fix some of those, but one individual was punished even forced to retire for helping. These issues continue, including last night with the heavy rain, water coming through the ceiling above my built in book case inside my house. I know exactly where the problems are in general and what is causing them but there was even denial that the problems were caused by their work. In this last exchange the manager acknowledged there is a warranty. That had never been acknowledged before, denying all responsibility. Saunders is the roofer who removed my old roof and installed this one. It was nonsense to question whether they did this. I KNOW the causes. TPO is not suitable for residences, only flat roofs. These Fan Houses with roofs over heptagon rooms are unsuitable for TPO. Hot welds require very HOT weld gun 1004 dg F, if not, cold welds All I want and expect is to have my roof STOP LEAKING. That is not too much to ask for a $25,000 roof job that still leaks when it rains. I know exactly what the problem is and it is still their responsibility to fix my roof to stop these leaks. The manager seems to be the problem with his denial of responsibility. Although the person at the top needs to be aware of these matters. I believe my former review prompted some action and response from Saunders so I added a star for that response. If they do finally fix these roof leaks, I will also acknowledge that.
