Complaint Category: Failure to honor promised refunds, exchanges, or credit
Complaint: I purchased a Nissan Rogue from Reno Dodge at their offsite sale at Scheel in Sparks, NV on 7/20/13. I noticed the charge for a car alarm on the sales receipt and mentioned it. I was told "Oh, we put car alarms in all our cars". The price was 399.00 and was not yet installed on my car. I was told that someone would contact me about installation. On 7/23/13, my Credit Union sent a check to Reno Dodge for the full amount of the car. About a week and a half after purchase, still no contact from Reno Dodge, I did some research. Found out that car alarms are a common scam, a way for the dealership to make a little extra money. They usually install an alarm that costs about $50.00, but charge you a fortune for it. I went into the dealership to express my displeasure and ask for a refund on the alarm. I was taken in ************** office (Customer Relations Manager). He told me as soon as the "month closed", (mind you this was already August), they would cut me a check, but it might be in my Credit Union's name. No problem, I left the office thinking I would have the check soon. Emailed ************ on 8/12/13, he wrote "Your check was given to the office to be cut and should be mailed out in the next couple of days. Here it is August 21, 2013, no check yet. I have also filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission.

Complaint Category: None of the Above - Sales Complaint Issue
Complaint: On 7/26/13 I went in to the dealership to look at the new Dodge pickup. I asked if we could take a test drive and was told no problem. I told the ************* the Salesman I was not interested in purchasing a vehicle on that date, but would like to purchase soon. I wanted to look at other dealerships and makes of vehicles as well. He asked me what it would take to get me drive the truck home. I told him a great deal and probably he would not like because this was the first dealership I had stopped by, and I wanted look around. He said I might be surprised. I told him I had financing thru my credit union, I was told to get a discount on the vehicle, about $10,000 less I had to use Reno Dodge's financing I agreed to fill out a credit application. *********s returned with ********** who ask me what it would take to get me into the truck right then, I told him I had to think about a decision like that over night. ********* started to give me different payment numbers, finely I told him I wanted to go have lunch and I would be back needed to think, they tried to talk me out of leaving I went anyway. When I came back to the dealership I was told the pickup we had been dealing on had sold, *********s took it across the street to their other lot and brought back a truck with less options. Another man came over as well, didn't get his name, we went back and forth we were within $25 a month or 5 months of payments. I told them if they get the deal they said they would try to get me, I would take the truck. After a couple of hours they couldn't get there. I told them I did not think we could business that day. They agreed, I said after I looked around I may be back. On 7/30/13 I received a letter stating the reason I was not able to purchase the truck was my credit score was to low. They reported this to all credit agencies This is untrue. I was told they could get me the financing they tried to get me to buy the truck, but want me to spend more than I could.
