    Shortbread Lofts is a faulty apartment full of faulty systems. The elevators are constantly broke, you can't even get into the front doors of the building as they are broken as well, and the only door that does work sticks and won't even open at times either. The amenities they claim to have, such as the coffee machine is also always broken, and never have any of us actually had good coffee come out of it when it's "fixed," it's all just watery. When we have given them ***** with their faulty systems, they do not give us any. As residents, we were all informed about getting a fine if we didn't dispose of our trash properly down the chutes. No information was relayed about what to do if they are full, therefore leaving multiple apartments with a hefty fine on their accounts. Maintenance lied with "picture" proof that showed chutes were clear (even though we all know they cleared them and then took pictures of the trash rooms). So when maintenance took there pictures to make renters look as if they didn't dispose of their trash with clear chutes. Even though when everyone actually was trying to dispose of their trash properly, but couldn't because improper staffing to keep up with trash disposal. Now when trying to talk about how to deal with the fine, ultimately it should be taken off, the management team is not understanding at all, and very hard to deal with. The have no respect or logical understanding of any of the systems in place at Shortbread Lofts. I strongly advise skipping out on living here.

    We appreciate the opportunity to address the concerns raised in the recent complaint filed with your organization regarding our property management practices. We take all feedback seriously and are committed to providing a satisfactory resolution to any issues raised.

    First and foremost, we would like to reaffirm our dedication to addressing maintenance issues in a timely manner. Our team is diligent in responding promptly to all reported concerns to ensure the comfort and satisfaction of our residents.

    In terms of communication, we maintain regular contact with our residents through various channels, including email, notices, and in-person interactions, to keep them informed about any developments or issues within the community.

    With regards to the specific issue of trash disposal, we have thoroughly investigated the matter and have found instances of trash being left on the ground near the trash chutes despite clear instructions provided to residents. We possess photographic evidence supporting this finding.

    As outlined in both the resident handbook and lease agreement, there are fines in place for violations related to improper trash disposal. However, after careful consideration and in an effort to maintain positive relationships with our residents, we have decided to waive the fine associated with the incident in question.

    We believe in addressing conflicts amicably and maintaining a positive living environment for all residents. Therefore, we have taken steps to resolve this issue while upholding the standards outlined in our policies.
