-- March 24, 2023 Paid Deposit: $2,800.00 (via Paypal Friends and Family, as requested) -- March 30, 2023 Paid Final Payment: $2,800.00 (via Paypal Friends and Family, as requested) -- Total amount paid to business as listed in contract: $5,000.00 -- Contracted Services: Jason K******, Owner committed to repairing holes, cracks and smoothing drywall prior to professionally painting walls. He also committed to apply primer and (2) coats of paint on main level and second floor (2nd Floor Bathroom was not included in written contract). -- Nature of Dispute: Painter and (2) employees cut corners and did not perform job satisfactorily: visible stains, flaws, poor wall prep, paint bleeding, uneven and inconsistent color (no primer applied), blotches and streaks (one coat applied), left ALL commercial garbage in home (including empty paint cans), left 5-days worth of food/beverage trash in home, demo'd drywall/joint compound in kitchen nook and left a gapping hole in the wall which now opens to the outside. Jason couldn't fix the wall so he put plastic over it to protect the room from external elements. He also uninstalled light fixtures and did not re-install them, painted on light fixtures, uninstalled kitchen cabinet doors and did not re-install them. -- Conflict Resolution: The business Owner refused to take accountability for the poor paint job. I called him, he yelled at me and hung up. Please note I did not review/approve the final paint job as it was completed at 10:00pm upon which the Owner demanded payment via text. Note: Initial quote was to include the kitchen nook drywall repair. Owner did not adjust price on contract when he could not perform this task, nor did he accept accountability for damages. Last, I cannot dispute the payment with Paypal because this business transaction was completed as a "Friends and Family" transfer which does not provide any protections. I think the Owner knew and that's why he was adamant about it.
