            On August 9, 2018, BBB met with Thermablaster to discuss complaints received at BBB regarding a thermocouple failure in some Thermablaster products.  The company advised that these complaints affect dual fuel wall heaters and gas logs made in 2015 & 2016 ONLY.   In these models, consumers may experience premature thermocouple failure.  In this scenario, the unit will not stay lit and will require replacement thermocouples.  Thermablaster advised BBB that they are actively working on this problem and hope to have a long term solution in the near future.

              I've had a Thermablaster wall heater for a few years and the thermocouple went out last winter. The company states that they have no replacements available and no ETA n their availability, stating that they're manufactured in China, as if that's some sort of excuse. I requested the specs for the thermocouple so that I could attempt to source a replacement elsewhere, but they refused to provide it. It's been a full year since my first set of inquiries and they still have no update. I see another complaint filed from 2020 that stated they had been waiting 2 years already. The company needs to either re-source the part or provide the specs so that the aftermarket community can support themselves. A blanket "no ETA" is not acceptable for the customers who have bought and rely on their products for warmth.

              purchased a log set for my rental unit fireplace some years back.Whikle showing the condo I turned on the fireplace so perspective tenants could view it. While talking to them the log set burner cought on fire and flame were shooting out. I keep extingushers in all rental for insurance purposes, I was able to put out the fire and when it cooled, took the log set & burner out to check. On the underside of the burner the gas line had developed a hole causing gas to shoot out which in turn caused the knobs and area where the battries are kept to catch on fire. Thermablaster rresponded that the warranty is only one year and they dont make that unit anymore, maybe because they catch on fire? Just my opinion but they did nothing but leave me a smoke filled room to clean. I do have photos of the burned unit as well as the hole in the unit and have it in a box in my garage in case this gets back to someone who inspects their products and would like to see. Looks like all reviews are one star, no good reviews.
