In late November 2021, Preece Heating installed a new gas boiler in our home. Following installation, additional servicing was required to properly adjust the new system. Following the last service call, I realized that some personal property that was located in a lidded storage container was missing. This storage container was situated adjacent to the Preece Heating work area in our basement. These missing items were present prior to Preece Heating personnel installing the new boiler system. Other than Preece Heating service personnel, no other individuals had access to our basement. Following the last Preece service call, the items were missing. Although I haven’t any visual or physical proof that a Preece Heating employee removed these items from our home, I do know that the items were present before installation of the new boiler—and were missing following the last service call. I twice attempted to contact Preece Heating via their website to address my concerns over the missing items, but Preece Heating did not respond. So, I strongly recommend that if you employ this business concern—or any business concern for that matter to perform work in your home, that you have a security camera system to monitor the workers/work area. If that is not available, I suggest that you maintain a continuous physical presence near the work area to monitor the worker’s activities. Unfortunately, we have learned our lesson the hard way with the loss of valuable property.
