      I figured insurance would not help me with my auto damage because it was self-inflicted, hardly an accident. Still wanting it fixed, I took it to Chaney's at *************************************************************************** . The guy told me to tell the insurance company that I slipped and fell, or that I was pushed, and that's what caused my car damage - an outright lie. I said I couldn't do that (and I did not; I told the insurance company what actually happened - I kicked my door. Truly, its documented.) but I would still talk with insurance. With an original estimate of $3,500, and then $5,000 after that, he kept saying I needed to turn it over to insurance. Or, take an offer for $1,000 to purchase my truck. After 2 days of back and forth with insurance, it was evident I was out of pocket. I told him that, and then no response from him for 2 days.I have that money, but to fix my door on a ******* mile vehicle, I really just wanted to be able to open and close the door again (right now, I am getting in and out through the front passenger door).I said "So, are there any solutions for less than $5,000". He says "we don't do jobs half-way, or rig things up. I will buy it for $1,200" (not ver batum, but very near).I don't want to sell it, I never said I did. I want to open and close my door and keep driving. But I can't help but feel that since it's no longer a $5,000 repair order he can bill to insurance, I am no longer a customer worth the time. That's okay, I will find someone surely that will take my money and help me fix my door halfway at least.
