I bought a 2021 Kia Sorento and had an issue where I had the side of my leg rest on the bump ( not even 5 pounds of pressure) while I was unplugging my block heater and I hear a popping noise. I looked and the front bumper cracked but had a weird mark above it in the upper portion of the bumper that was not cracked. At the time I was really confused why a bumper would do that so I grabbed my snake camera and put it behind the bumper and seen the upper bumper was split on the seam the manufacturer made while making the bump. I reported this and took it into Kia Muskoka and they only took a few pictures of the outside and said no that wasn't impact related by the looks of it. No further investigation was done to see if it was a manufacturer defect. Week later they said sorry can't do anything about it. They did not offer to look to see what I seen and they will not take any responsibility for a manufacturer defect. The vehicle has a full warranty. They still won't look at the bumper fully. This is a vehicle the was over $30,000 and only has 23000 km. A bumper should be able to with stand a side of a leg on it. I put more pressure on the vehicle when I'm hand washing it. I've also ask for a quote to fix it and said I would even pay for them to remove the bumper to have it inspected by them so they know I wasn't lieing by having someone else remove it and document it.
