I took my 7 month old kitten here to get spayed a few weeks ago by Dr. **** She was doing fine the first 6 days, but by the 7th day after surgery she stopped moving, eating, drinking, and would growl and swat at you if you got close to her. This is a telling sign of infection, I anxiously called Dr. *** explaining her odd behavior and my concerns. He told me to go ahead and bring her in and he would check her out. He takes her in the back room, while watching him in the reflection of the door window I watched him and his assistant taking her by her neck scruff and flipping her over (not gently or kindly at all) stapling her Incision together, and putting ointment on it. When dr *** came back out I asked him if she has an infection. He told me that he sees absolutely no sign of infection and that the incision was gaping a little so he put a staple in it and put ointment in her ear to give her an appetite but otherwise shes good to go. I tried explaining once again that something isnt right and that she was acting to weird to not have an infection. He sent us away telling me that shes just a sensitive cat and she doesnt have an infection, gave me two pain pills and sent us on our way. The next morning when I woke up my cat wouldnt even stand, she was in so much pain she would literally try to stand up and walk and then take one super slow step then go right back to the floor. She tried to eat (because of the appetite ointment he gave her) and then puked it all up, she just laid there with her symptoms worse than the day before. I called her original vet (East Bend Animal Hospital) and told them what happened and how she was acting, they immediately said get her here right now and moved their other appointments to get us in. After arrival they checked her out telling me that she had a 104 degree temperature and a severe infection, they had to perform emergency surgery on her to clean the ungodly amount of puss out of her incision. ?If a District Attorney prosecuting a case hides evidence that is helpful for the defendant in order to make his case stronger and is found out ,the case is thrown out and he or she is admonished by the court- maybe even disbarred. If you bring a complaint and only give a few facts and knowingly leave out information that is inconvenient to make your case is this not a form of lying? Dishonesty by omission. This story is missing at least 7 items of exculpatory information that needs see the light of day.1. On 2 occasions and at the visit I was told she was not licking the wound just the skin around the wound and 2.was not wearing the collar to isolate her head.3. She had never seen any pus and ,on exam, I had not either coming from the wound.4.Her fever was ***** which was bit over normal She was very feisty and some times the temperature can go up above normal. Sometimes its significant. But if it had been 104 I would have suggested more aggressive treatment 5.I was concerned because her behavior had changed and it had clearly been licked open and infection could have gotten in *************** forgot to mention that I gave antibiotic infection and an antiinflmmatory oral medicine and the appetite stimulate( which is the only medicine she mentioned). This also helps her argument of what she implies is my disconcern 6. Her cat, being feral, are known by all who work with cats to be exceptionally hard to handle and ****** sensitive to being handled. I didnt brush this off as a sensitivity issue but merely tried to put in perspective that any infection may make her exceedingly protective.7.I called her first thing the next day to see how things were going but only got voice mail. I made 2 subsequent calls to find out how the surgery went She told me there was pus under the skin but not in the abdominal cavity which would have a been a very severe problem She, by the way, thanked me for following up In summation- with the information in front of me as outlined above I was concerned as evidenced by the multiple medications I gave that an infection could be starting and started appropriate care. No Vet would have taken this cat to surgery at this time. Closure with a staple is no more painful than a vaccine and yes sometimes you scruff a feisty cat to induce control and restraint. Its done all the time in Vet Medicine. Abscesses in cats commonly are fine one day and blow up abruptly even draining to outside -which was never seen, even at other clinic until opened up.With this new evidenced presented to the court of public opinion I think *************** and BBB must retract the allegations. Clearly it dishonest ,unfair and damaging- not to mention slanderous.I look forward to finding my request honored immediately and further request no more social media reviews be put out to damage me. If not I will have seek remedy in other forms Everyone is entitled to their own opinion but NOT their own facts.?If a District Attorney prosecuting a case hides evidence that is helpful for the defendant in order to make his case stronger and is found out ,the case is thrown out and he or she is admonished by the court- maybe even disbarred. Dr ***** have not and am not getting an attorney to fight this case. I have only lost just over $1200 total or just the $420 ish Ive lost just at your clinic. I however, was not lying or hiding any truth to make you look worse. I do believe that I should not have been charged for a service that you clearly stated was a bad judgement call, which resulted in me almost losing my cat. She was a stray cat when I found her at age 1 month, she is very much so not a feral stray cat anymore. Meaning she is clearly not just a sensitive cat after all, I need a little understanding from you as I understand that my review was not good for your company. I am also willing to take the reviews down.Thank you, ******
