Complaint Category: Improper or inferior repair

Complaint: there are several complaints i have, first i was told the custom fabrication job i wanted would take no more than two months, i dropped truck off the first week of june, after picking the truck up at the end of october i had to take it to another shop to do work that chaz auto was supossed to take care of, brakes, engine working proper, electrical etc. They replaced the carburator to get it running and out of the shop, found out at the new shop i needed a new carb again the one Chaz put on was "junk". I also needed a new master cylinder, wheel cylinders and new brake pads(these were supossed to be checked while i was getting new tires put on in July 2012) i was lucky to get the truck back home. Chaz also sold me a used/rebuilt generator whick upon my first time using put no output energy to the outlets, i took it back to Chaz and they just blew me off saying something happened to the control board(i replaced it myself) after one week with no return calls (no test data showing generator worked, just their word) now just two months of acually driving the vehicle i have to replace another design flaw of Chaz Auto, they installed a 25gal water tank above the driveline, held in place by three straps of plumbers tape to hold 200aproximate pounds of water, well they broke and the water tank landed on the drive line boring a hole in the tank rendering it useless, once again no return phone call as to what they are going to do about their workmanship. This vehicle is for business purposes and i am worried as to what will break nest do to poor craftsmanship and lack of ability to properly fabricate safe vehicles. The list goes on, but at the moment these are the main issues i am having.

******* here, in regards to complaint about a new carburetor being bad that we bought from ****** **** ***** = **** in Hillsboro, that would be a **** or Manufacture Warranty issue that if it was presented to us before having another shop delve into it then we could have addressed that in a timely manner.
In regards to the Generator circuit board burning out, The Generator was in working order when it left here when project was completed because we ran our drop lights off of it to test, when we were notified of a problem we contacted **** and ******** ** a **** Gen. dealer about a board and if we should look for an issue that may have caused the board to burn out or if we should just put another board in it = no sense replacing with a new one if it was just going to melt. We still haven't heard from either of them. Concerning the water tank issue, Our Rv Tech has many years in the RV industry and has installed about 400 water tanks in small Class C motor homes as well as in Big 40Ft Class A Motor homes and Trailers large and small, They have always held them up with plumbers tape metal strap, Granted that this special custom truck application is a little different, and we are sorry the valued customer has had issues but we are not doing sub par work here and frankly resent the accusations. We could have pulled the water tank and repaired or replaced it, same as the carb but We Are Not Paying another shop to address any labor claims issue, that is NOT the way this is handled. If customer wanted to bring us in nthe carb i can contact our parts dealer and see if we can get a refund of some kind but because our customer drove the truck home and stated that it ran Great.....i have a problem believing that it is bad, i do however believe that someone else wanted to sell him a carb. I am at best going to offer to pay the price that i can find a circuit board for back to the customer as to make a gesture at taking care of that issue.

I will begrudgingly accept the offer of chaz auto and rv, however please note that they are still not standing behind their personal craftsmanship. Regardless of said experience or knowledge of their rv tech, their design and fabrication FAILED and caused damage to the white water tank that was beyond repair. I still feel that chaz auto should also reimburse the cost of a new tank because of this failure.
No explanation was needed about the steering issue I was just rebutting the previous statement by chaz auto "customer said it ran great", and that chaz auto let a customer drive away in an unsafe vehicle. Not how a professional automotive repair shop should act, customers beware.

So carb was returned to ***** Someone told customer that a cage should have been used under water tank? Our RV tech has ran ****** ********** ******* dept. and well as worked at ***'s ** and ********* ** over a 35 yrs span and has been offered a position at a RV Training school in Florida and he said that almost all water tanks of that size are secured by plumbers tape, I also called ****** ******* and ******* ***** and they also confirmed this fact. As for the steering issue Customer had after leaving here, it was an alignment issue where the axle had to be adjusted or bent for correct alignment, we don't do alignments here. I am perfectly willing to pay for the board the customer replaced. The used Generator was bought from ***** ****** up the street just before they closed up and during the move wasn't able to find the documents on the unit or the customer would have the paperwork on said unit. Please have customer send a copy of the invoice for the board and i will send off pmt.
