I applied for a 2 bedroom apartment at a property managed by WHS Management, located in **********, ** by the name of ***************************** which is supposed to be an affordable housing. I was called and asked if I was interested in applying because there was a unit coming up by the end of October 2022; but if I was interested in that unit, I had to pay $500 in order to remove it from being rented by another person and I was told that the $500 would be applied to the rent for the month. Once the application was completed they kept asking me every other day for documents which took almost 2 weeks and I got upset when they requested information on my 401K at that point I asked to cancel my application because they were dragging their feet. The manager then told me that she would need to tally how much money should would return because the $500 were actually being applied while they were processing the paperwork; which to me doesn't make sense. I have no copy of the document they had me initial or sign. I started the application on 10/15/22 when I took the $500 cashier's check and $25.00 each for my mom and I which I'm ok not getting back. WHS Management returned $166.00 because the balance they are charging as "rent" for 20 days of them processing my paperwork. I was told by the Manager *********************** that they were in training and that's why it was taking longer; I told her that wasn't my fault and shouldn't be penalized for their issues.
