Hired the company to rebuild home after total fire loss. Took 18mo which was far longer than job shouldve taken but between COVID slowed materials production down but this company crutches behind the excuse and took 8mo longer than projected. Company was good to work with as I stayed diligent in being involved to not delay any progress. The quality of their work when finally completed was excellent but thats when all the problems started. This company is absolutely awful with organization and billing. This company exceeded my insurance coverage by over $25,000 and continued to send me outdated invoices missing payments, noticed they were charging for work and materials not done/used. Despite insurance company paying ridiculous over charges, Copelands invoice continuously was changing and Copeland kept saying dont know what that charge is but you have to pay it. Could not get a final invoice from them. Finally received the invoice for the first time along with a small claim case attached. I counter sued for work they did not do, unfortunately representing yourself doesnt often go as well. Both sides won on items and unfortunately I was ordered to repay some despite proof of payment. Also to note Copeland construction used an attorney who I would like to add was as Ill prepared and dishonest as this company. I was taken back on monstrous high attorney fees in which I also was awarded a reduction in due to his padding of hours. The attorney repeatedly confused my case with the other party there being sued by Copeland and they too was awarded a reduced fine against Copeland for overcharging and the attorney for padding his hours. My storm shelter was only 2 yrs old and Copeland hired ground zero to repair storm shelter. He did not assure the job was done properly and now I am left with a rusted, leaking death trap that the warranty sticker was painted over, voiding lifetime warranty. Do yourself a favor and find a honest, reliable and professional company.

Every effort was made with you and your insurance company throughout this project and especially in the final stages that gave transparency to the final balance owed. Your insurance company approved and paid as per the completed work by Copeland Construction and at no time were you invoiced beyond those items. You were paid directly from the insurance company and were invoiced by our company accordingly. Copeland Construction stands by it's commitment to doing, not only quality work, but honest and reliable work. It is unfortunate that you felt the need to seek resolution in the manner you did, as it is a loss on all sides. Despite the efforts to bring a negative light to this company by submitting this review, it is our hope for you to have success in your future endeavors.
