      My confirmed beach condo reservation was cancelled by Distinctive Beach Rentals, also known as ******************* operating under VTrips. Other reviewers have had the same problem. There are multiple complaints about their company at the Better Business Bureau. I wish that I had known this before devoting a considerable amount of time, choosing the perfect 3BR unit at *********** Breakers for our 4-night family reunion. I booked on May 8 for June 7 arrival. They notified me on May 24 that they needed to cancel my reservation with no reason given. This caused our family a major problem, scrambling to find a suitable replacement during the high season.I finally discovered that the Breakers condo association does not allow rental of less than 2 weeks for the 3BR units what kind of responsible leasing company offers a unit for rent on VRBO, Booking.com and multiple similar websites for anything less than the required minimum time? Distinctive Beach Rentals availability calendar across multiple sites showed several June bookings of much less than 2 weeks each at the time of my notification; these were all apparently cancelled, because the calendar cleared shortly thereafter. The very professional, established leasing agent with whom I found a replacement unit informed me that Distinctive has a less than desirable reputation. Congratulations to those who chose this company and had no problemdo yourself a simple favor and choose a different leasing company to avoid a potential headache.

      My family and I recently rented the cabin Dreams and Streams in **********. We had a horrible experience with this rental. We were only at the cabin for a couple of hours and noticed our dog was scratching a lot. Upon inspection of her we found multiple fleas on her. After calling the phone number left for issues, we were asked to send pictures. We did and got no response. I called the number again because it was now about 1000 pm and we were not comfortable staying in this cabin. I again was told they would submit the claim and get back to me. In the meantime we found additional fleas on the floors of the cabin and even found flea bites on my son's lower leg. Still not hearing anything back we finally packed all our belongings up and left the cabin to find a hotel. It was now 1100 pm and we were left searching for a hotel that had availability and would take a dog. I called the service number a 3rd time and was told pest control would be to the property the next morning. I expressed my frustration and told them we were no longer staying at the property. We were contacted the next day and were informed of 2 cabins that were available for us to pick from. The cabins were both only 1 bedroom while the first was a 2 bedroom. The switch was seamless, which I appreciate greatly. We were reimbursed for the difference in cost of the 2 cabins but I requested for compensation of our 1st nights stay in which we didn't stay at the flea infested cabin. I was told management needed to be contacted for this. I have not received any reimbursement nor have I heard from your company at all. This has been an awful experience with your company.

      Notified 1 hour before arrival that air conditioning was broken. We were told it would be fixed. When it wasn't fixed, we were told we would be refunded for the days we didn't use if we wanted to check out early. At the point Vtrips stopped communicating with us so we disputed the charge with Amex, who for some reason sided with Vtrips. We've now been charged for 5 days of a stay in which we weren't even in the house. It was 87 degrees INSIDE. We had children with us. They KNEW the ac was not functioning because the **** company that did show up (and didn't fix it) told us they had been out 2 days prior.

      f I could give this company a negative 5, I would! We have rented a home for July, 15th - July 19th. Unfortunately, Hurricane ***** has hit, one week before our vacation. I have a friend who lives on the same street and they have been told they will be without power for 2 weeks at the earliest, homes are missing roofs, etc. When I called to ask what the protocol is and if our home was in any condition to stay, I was told I would find out 1-2 days before we check-in, as this is "a day by day process."We were told we will not receive a refund because this is an unforeseen circumstance (if they have to cancel). I understand not receiving a refund if I cancel, however, if they cancel, I should receive a refund or be moved to another property.I am in a situation where I am unable to plan another vacation because they are unwilling to work with me, unwilling to check the property, unwilling to contact the owner, and told me they would contact me ***** hours before my 4 pm check in time.Their customer service is terrible! I 100% do NOT recommend using this company.

      Zero stars!Cancelled trip 10 days before my vacation. They did not clearly state that *************** has a seven-night minimum requirement, which they say has been in effect for years. I have been renting in ************************************** for years and NEVER had this issue.Their answer, others are not following the law but they are.However, I have rented *************** beach homes from them, and I have never stayed a minimum of 7 nights.No care, no resolution, not their problem.

      Terrible experience with Jackson Mountsin Rentals! Mice droppings in the pull out beds, kitchen was dirty, and several rooms had no hot water for the entire stay of 3 days! We called every single day and was told someone was in the way. Never showed up! We had to literally pack our stuff and take it to someone else’s room to bathe! Spent over $2000 (over 800 in unexplained fees)for 3 days and they want to offer us $80 for our inconvenience! I’ll be contacting a lawyer because this is fraud! The entire place needs updating and not to mention some of the tvs didn’t work. We were fine with that but no hot water and mice droppings is absolutely unacceptable! Lastly there’s a carpenter bee problem in front and the swarm definitely kept us running just to get in the cabin!We stayed at Pine tree Lodge!

      Well, I have done extensive traveling throughout my life, which has included visiting 46 states, and have stayed in countless motels, but unfortunately virtually no experience with renting cabins. We don't leave for 6 weeks and my first experience renting a cabin has already left a sour and disgruntled taste in my mouth. The attitude of the supposed manager has also made things worse. I booked this cabin on 4/19 through ***** ******** Rentals, a (I later learned) 3rd party booking agency. ***** ******** Rentals advertises itself as being the owners of this cabin, so I completed the booking process with them. It was not until yesterday, 4/21, that I learned that the true owners are Jackson Mountain Homes. Simultaneously, I learned of a 20% discount promotion ******* ******** Homes was running. I have missed out on this promotion because "It had been more than 48 hours since I booked, and since everything is paid for there is nothing I can do." - says this person of supposed authority. There was no Promotion advertised when I booked. This was a clear case of having to break the rules to learn the rules. Thank you, ******* ******** Homes, for your attitude and your customer no service. Please also recall that I turned down your offer to receive your (after the fact) Policies and Procedures. There is no reason to retain them "for future reference". Unfortunately, I cannot comment on the cabin itself, but the wind has been clearly taken out of my sails. These sites are managed by channel partners, and in most cases, these partners are separate companies. Because you booked directly through one of these channel partners, you're bound by their terms. Unfortunately, we were unable to offer you the same terms, as the full amount had already been paid out to that company. But we hope you'll see fit to try us again at a later date, as we always offer our guests the most competitive rates in the industry.

      Vtrips listed a vacation rental and accepted my booking. After 2 weeks, they contacted to say the owner wouldn't accept the price? I didn't bid on a unit. Vtrips had the unit listed for multiple dates at the price I booked. My choice was to accept the new rate which was DOUBLE the rate or I could cancel. When I asked what guarantee there was not to have additional rent changes prior to my arrival, there was no response!!! Then I read the reviews and saw many people had their rates increase just prior to arrival. I have never rented from a company that broke contracts. Fortunately, it happened far enough in advance we could avoid Vtrips.

      We rented Fire in the Sky ***** and I'm disappointed I didn't read these reviews first. The code to enter the cabin didn't work so we had to call and get a new code - that didn't work so we had to get a third code. We were shocked that the cords to the tv in the living room were hanging out which was dangerous and unacceptable and I'm sure couldn't pass code. When someone cleaned the cabin, they should have reported this, and it shouldn't have been our responsibility to report it. Instead of buying a new rug in the living room due to the rug corners curling up the carpet is duck tapped which was unsightly.The most disappointing item was on Saturday we planned it to be a "game night". We went downstairs and NOTHING worked!!! Not the ** or games!!! We assumed since all the lights worked downstairs including the alarm clock in the bedroom downstairs everything else would work. Never thought nothing downstairs worked. This was a huge disappointment!!!Since we couldn't have game night, we went outside on the back to enjoy the fireplace and that didn't work either!!!We paid $2,200 for 3-night stay for what we thought was a 5-star cabin and couldn't enjoy the amenities as promised. We demanded some kind of refund and all we got was what others got before "refer to the contract". However, we have a text from guest services that "WE WILL BE LOOKING INTO COMPENSATION". When I brought that to the attention of VTRIPs and Jackson Mountain rentals, we got a $50 refund!!! What a slap in the face. They don't care about making things better for visitors and it's sad we spent hard earned money for something we couldn't completely enjoy! A business that cares "in good faith" would have either offered more money or a discount on the next stay. Shame on you!

      Just booked with Jackson Mountain Rentals in ********** **. ***************! The complaints about the amenities not working has my family anxious to say the least. We called days after booking to see if we can get a full refund on our deposit and as expected we cannot. This place has had complaints about inoperable refrigerators, hot tubs, an AC for years and it seems like the problem goes unresolved. The earliest complaints were from October 2023! All of which complained about the same things. How can this place stay in business and completely ignore paying customer complaints. We will be out $300 if we choose to cancel. We may have our family attorney contact them at this point because keeping our service fee money is absolutely absurd giving me our cancelling days after booking. At some point places like this must be held accountable for their mistreatment of paying customer experiences.
