I signed contract with **** ******** on Jan 26,2021. The contract was to cost me over $6499.75 to install two doors downstairs and $5902.55 to install 3 windows upstairs. I have paid 2/3 of the total cost ($9211.84). First payment was made in February, 2021. He forgot he already picked up the permit application from my house for a month and asked for it again in March. He forgot to check with the engineer on the drawing about the much bigger opening before submitting the application and caused the first inspection failed in September. He caused me $450 more for this mistake and a month waiting on permit. He started installing the doors in October, 2021 but it never finished. He started with coming a few days a week to just one day a week in November or just no show. He worked only one to two hours and sometimes left without notifying me. He was often a few hours late and gave all kinds of reasons to cancel the appointments. He stopped responding to my calls, email and text messages. I can’t find him. The windows upstairs are delaying our remodeling plans on the bathrooms and we have been using the only bathroom for two years. I need him to finish the work on the doors on two weeks and work on windows right away.

I signed a contract with **** in January, 2021, paid the 1/3 of overall cost in February to open walls, install two doors downstairs and three windows upstairs. He didnt bother to fill in the forms for permit application for me, but asked me to do everything for him. As a homeowner, I had to ask him questions to fill in the form and quickly let him pick up in February to submit to the city. But after a month he asked me for the paperwork. Fortunately I had emails to show he got them. So he found it in his paper files. One month was gone for that. In ***** we got approved. But he had to get the wall open by his *****************, so we waited until August. His ***************** was quick and professional and finished his part in a week. **** told me the doors would take many weeks to get from a store he chose. I told him I found the doors in HomeDepot. He kept telling me the doors I found were not permitted to be used in *******. It didnt make sense to me so I made many trips to HomeDepot and made him talk to the door department in HomeDepot and sent him pictures of the labels with the permit codes. Shouldnt these have been done by him? But then the inspection failed because he didnt bother to check with the structure engineer on the discrepancy on the drawing and what we agreed in contract in January. On February 1 I already reminded him to double check with the engineer before applying for the permit and thats why we waited for two weeks. But it turned out he only asked about the windows and forgot about the doors. So he asked me to pay $300 more to change the drawing and $450 more for the *****************. I disagreed but we settled with me paying the ***************** $450 because I felt bad for him. I made the second 1/3 payment in September and waited for the inspection to pass until October. He picked up the door on 10/6 and we thought it would take only two weeks to get it done as he told us. But it is ***** now, our room is not is still in construction zone.
