Hired the Tax Defense Network (TDN) in February 2024 to address my tax concerns at a cost of $4000. After five months, their Tax Professional, who turned out to be an out of state contractor with no oversight, contacted me and charged me an additional $600. The IRS flagged the returns he submitted as containing "accounting errors" so I contact him, and he tells me that his unlicensed secretary does the returns, and then he reviews them before submission. That he didn't see this one, and that he'd do it over. Then he contacted me again saying that he lost my original paperwork, and that he needed me to send another copy. This paperwork contained all my personal information and all my banking information and became an Identity Theft concern as no one at TDN knew who worked in this contractor's office, and my credit score dropped significantly for no reason. After six months of no activity regarding my tax documents, the IRS began the Levy process. I notified the TDN of this, and they fired that contractor and assigned another, who reviewed my case and immediately quit. Then they assigned another, who also immediately quit. We are now on contractor number four. When my credit score took a hit, I requested that my original documents that the first contractor still had possession of, be returned to me, and after weeks and weeks of excuses, and no compliance, I requested a termination of contract and full refund from TDN. They have now gone silent and refuse to respond, or refund my money. At no point in this process have the managers ever apologized or taken responsibility for their gross negligence. We have been given nothing but delays and excuses for months, and now they have gone completely silent. How is this legal behavior, from a licensed Tax Professional Services company, acceptable?
