Habitat for Humanity New York City transforms lives by building quality homes with families in need and by uniting all New Yorkers around the cause of affordable housing.
Incorporated: 1984 in NY
Construction in Queens: Habitat NYC is currently rehabilitating 13 vacant, dilapidated homes that are a blight on the community. Twelve homes are located in Southeast Queens and one is in Staten Island.
Brush with Kindness: The mission of Habitat NYC's Brush with Kindness (BWK) program is to enhance, beautify and revitalize community spaces in New York City. BWK is about connecting the community through simple acts of kindness so that families can once again live in safe and decent neighborhoods. Volunteers age 14 & up may participate with a signed waiver by a parent or guardian.
Critical Home Repairs in Staten Island and Coney Island: Following Superstorm Sandy’s devastation of many New York communities, Habitat for Humanity New York City sprung into action to support our neighbors in need.
