On Sunday 10/8, my husband and I concluded a 3 night stay with this property. We were given a subterranean room, with scuffed, dingy furnishings, no A/C and dirty surfaces within a dilapidated property. When we arrived, we noticed a large round hole in the drywall in the bathroom of our room (***). Everything else about the hotel and room was less than subpar, so we didn't think anything of it, and just assumed the hotel knew about it and had chose not to fix it. The hole in the wall was orange, pushed in, and matched with everything else in the room and on the property. When we checked out, we were called and told they were charging us $1,500 for the 'wall repair and damage we caused'. We did not create this damage, and this hotel is scapegoating us because they didn't notice this hole until just now. OR, finally saw someone who stayed in the room that they assumed could afford it? Regardless, this is a grasp at straws by a business to scam unsuspecting guests into paying for someone else's mistake. In addition, when talking to the manager *****, she was unbelievable rude, when I tried to explain how it was there when we got there, how if we had done it, surely there would be dust and debris on the floor and all over the room and that I would understand if the cleaning staff had missed noticing it (because it was behind a door) she repeatedly cut me off, said she didn't believe me, I was wrong and that she was hanging up. Worst hotel manager I've ever interacted with. She had no interest in logic, she and the staff decided that we did it and did not care about anything else. This hotel has extremely poor business practices and needs to be investigated. If they did this to us, I can't imagine what types of extra fees and charges they have forced and will force on other guests.
