I had my car towed to Star Collision Center in Farmington, NM on May 10, but they didn't officially receive it until the 18th. I had been under the impression that ***** would handle everything, but they didn't notify Star Collision that my car was being towed there for repairs, so it sat there for a week. May 18, Star Collision sent me an estimate, I agreed to pay $500 out of pocket for the additional repairs that ***** didn't cover. I called every other day to ask for updates, but they would tell me they were waiting for parts. July 3, they told me my car was ready for pick up. I drove from Phoenix, AZ to Farmington (380 miles) to pick it up, but when I got there, it needed a jump start it to get it off their lot. They parked it in front of the shop, in a handicap spot, and said it will shut off if we turned it off. They then left. I didn't know what to do, as they were about to close the shop. My car did turn off before I left the parking lot, and it struggled to stay on. The manager came out to help with a jump, and he noticed that the bearings were bare just by looking at it. He said the best thing to do was to go to ******* and get the battery replaced. We did so unsafely as our only option. We got the battery replaced at *******, and proceeded to head back to Phoenix. We made it no more than 15 miles before it started smoking from the engine. There was nothing more I could do, so I had it towed to the nearest Chevy dealership because I didn't want Star Collision to charge me again. I have no knowledge of vehicles, so I had a mechanic I knew come out to try and help. When he inspected the vehicle, he found that the oil and coolant were dangerously low. He didn't have the required tools to make any sort of repairs, so he took it back to Star Collision. On July 20, the manager called and said they needed to do further tests. On August 1, they called and said it needed a new engine. I don't have the means to pay for one, so it has been there since.
