A horrible experience. Bad quality is one thing. We drove 6 hours from previous home to new K. Hov. home--Four Seasons of Lake of Cane Bay-- for closing (1/31/23). House was dirty, and outside wall was "dirty" all around. Was told by the contractor "No problem, it will be clean when you come back from the lawyer's office." Moved in 3/20/23. Outside wall was still "dirty". Contractor then said, "Oh, that is not the dirt. It is kind of stain which would not be washed off. So it will need to be repainted." Months after, we still could not get the problem solved after several follow-ups. Finally, some one came and assess the problem. They said "touch up" won't work. Have to repaint all. Great. There are 4 sides of wall, every side of wall has the unwastable stains. 12/28/23, the painters came and only painted 3 sides of wall, and left east site untouched. Another back and forth communications, we were told , "just report to warranty again, and we will paint it." Another person gets involved. This is the response we got. "The state standards require us to only paint over areas of need, but prior to close we provided signed documents that do advise of color variations being a possibility when repairs are made on homes. " The stains on the wall is an "area of need" even before the house was closed. We were stupid and trusted the company would keep their words. And now, this wall is . ......

My experience with K. Hovnanian Homes has been horrible. We purchased our home in June 2021, and did not get our home started till October 2021. Since the house next door was a smaller unit by an additional floor. The house next door got work done before ours, and continue to do so. Our house was delayed almost 5 months, and 1.5 months after the next door house. The house next door had their framing, bricks, wood before us even though we purchased the house first by at least two months. Our house was initially due on Jan 2022, but there's no deadline for the foreseeable future. Only good thing about the house next door having an advance over my house is that I get to see all the messed up things they are doing. Here's a list of some of those things: 1. Contractors are setting the wood floor, and not picking up the nails. As they walk through to do the work they are nicking the wood floors. Ruining and making holes in those expensive floors. 2. They decided to paint the first floor without covering the wood floors. The floors would require a shave to remove all the paints. 3. I walked into my home's cabinet filled with hot sauce, and walls spread throughout the walls. 4. The contractors decide when they want to work, and are unreliable. If you want someone reliable enough, you have to pay enough to work. 5. They are using the kitchen floors as a woodshop where they have the garage to work on, and could ruin the floors. 6. There's evidence of oil inside the wood floors that they've decided to use inside the house. I have tried to talk with the sales representative and she has been extremely rude. I don't want to speak with her until we get our home, and only because we have to. She loves to wastes time by calling to try to talk for an hour to eventually tell me she's not targeting me and she can't do anything. My experience with the KHovs representatives is they are unreliable, untrustworthy, and unprofessional. I would definitely love to hear otherwise.
