Anyone who has tried to hire contract work for home understands that the market has exploded and contractors are swamped with opportunities. Working off of an old neighbor referral, we contracted Tim Christensen Contracting about doing some interior renovation and some exterior repairs. We initially reached out in early January 2022 and met with the contractor to do a walk through and an estimate. Upon agreeing to the work, we were told that there was a week left on an earlier job and the work would begin the next week. Nothing happened. We reached out via text or phone on February 21, 28, March 8, March 17, March 21. Finally a response on March 27 saying that work would begin Monday, April 4 and we would hear start time on Sunday, April 3. No communication on April 3, 4, 8, 11, 15, 16. On Monday, April 18 we reached out to another contractor who has been honest with us about availability. So, here is the thing. We are certain that Mr. Christensen is hardworking and is just uncomfortable with telling the truth. If more contractors understood that clients appreciate communication as much as the actual work, itself. Now, we are three months down the road with no work when we could have started if this guy had been honest about his availability. This is not a comment about the quality of his work but, instead, about the lack of honest and timely communication. Avoid.
