Shady business practices. Went to Cock of the walk after family funeral with party of 11. Restaurant menu stated 15% gratuity added for party of 11 or more. Bill total came with a 378.00$ balance and a 45.00$ gratuity was included. We paid cash of 221.00$ And the remaining balance we split 3 ways was 53.28 to charge on each of our cards. They brought our bill back to each of us with a 15.00$ added in the tip and when questioned they claimed it correct. Asked to speak to manager and waiter said he would ask and returned saying it was correct. We then went to cashier and waiter and cashier were corrected and we marked out the additional tip on all three cards. Signed and left. This morning my account shows 53.38 for one transaction and a second for 15.00$ which they did to all three accounts total of tip added to already included 45.00$ means we were charged a tip total of 90.00$ anyway which is fraud. I'm certainly upset and will never do business there. I'm disputing that charge with my bank. I'm also notifying the business manager tomorrow when they open again as they are closed Mondays. I have screenshots of both my customer copy and online bank charge pending and would have gladly added additional tip to the 15% had they been honest or admitted the mistake the first time. They most likely assumed people in a large party wouldn't pay attention or notice the up charge and leads me to believe they have been doing this to others also and I read the tip information based off the menu. The restaurant has a posted sign stating parties of 16 or more will be charged additional tip of 15% so either way they are running a game and should be reported with as many tourist as they serve in this town. It's not the point of the amount of money spent, it's the principle of it and their practices that should be exposed. As for their food, it was subpar at best but as someone who's worked in the service industry over 35 years. Bad days happen but deceptive practices = unacceptable!
