I trusted this company with the repair of my computer. When it was returned to me, it was running just as slow as before.

On June 8 I called Micom Systems about needing my laptop repaired. After speaking with a representative, I left my Dell Latitude Laptop in the care of this company. I alerted the representative (the same as I spoke with on the phone) that I had no clue what was wrong with it and that I had taken it to another place to be repaired before. The representative then told me that he would make some diagnostic, and he looked my laptop over while I was there and told me that he would fix my issue for $100.00 He also alerted me that my machine was better than any used machine he had (in the $100-$150 range) and that I would get better value for my money by getting my computer repaired for that price range. He said I would need to leave the laptop. I left it with him, nad he called me on June 10 to alert me that not only was my computer repaired, but it was running "like new" and "fast". He even added what the previous mechanics were doing wrong in fixing my computer. I came to get the computer on June 13. The technician on duty recommended I turn the computer on before leaving. I'm glad I did. It rus running slower than it was prior to my turning it in. He recommended that he call the manage to see what kind of deal could be made because of how slow the computer was running. The manager demanded that I pay the $100, and I never got the service that we agreed upon.

We agreed to remove the viruses from his laptop, for a charge of $100.00, our tech removed over 500 viruses before was given to him, tech found out later after the viruses were removed some of old files in one of his software was corrupted, tech asked customer to provide him with the original media for that corrupted software so we can finish the repair. customer said that software was installed in his laptop by one of his friends 6 or 7 years ago and would be able to provide us with the original media for the software. our company will not be able to work on the unit if the original media for the software was given to us. it violate copy write infringement laws. we offer to clean the hole entire hard drive and start all over at no extra charge. customer refused the service, customer does not want to lose his pirated software

Two sentence summary: i recently purchased a laptop from this company and after reviewing the invoice and prices determined it to be overpriced and had major problems. Tried to phone and email owner and he apparently wont contact me.

4000 word or less summary: I bought thinkbook laptop back in Nov. 2012. Itwas defective.Ihad traded in my desktop. All of my files were lost including photos of my family and specifically grandchildren. Many irreplacebale. They traded an Acer Aspire 5532. Charged an additional $100. The screen on it had to be replaced. They said it was damaged by me but I dont think I did. This cost $185.00 plus labor and service charge for a total of around $350.00. I am a cancer patient In Donelson Place Care and am immobile.About a month ago Microsoft notified me that my laptop had a non genuine copy of Windows 7 in it. Notified Micom owner *****,and he would not answer phone message or email . The copy of Windows caused my laptop to freeze making it unusable.
After a week I finally got him on the phone. He said he would trade with me and make allowances for the problems.. I traded for an used laptop Transaction ************************, used system hp g60 intel celeron 2.2 ghz,4 gb hd,5000gb hd,dvdrw win 7, Discount was $.0.52 (really big) allowed $100.00 trade in and an onsite service charge of $89.00 which consisted of a 20 minute drive to Donelson Place. After getting this computer it was loaded with virus and had no antivirus. It also had bad graphics drivers.***** would not return my calls or emails. It cost me $99.00 to have the virus removed and about $39.00 to fix the drivers. I opened the slot for the dvdrw and there was a disc with a non genuine copy of Win 7 on it. So this laptop will eventually fail as did the Acer. This is illegal. As you can read I have been ripped off big time.

Desired Settlement
A genuine copy of Win 7 installed on my pc reimbursement for The repair costs described earlier .($99.00 AND $39.00) AND $89.00 service charge. I do not trust Micom to do anything else to my laptop and I certainly dot believe I should have to pay more service and labor charges. P lease help me if you can.

Business' Initial Response
When Mr. ***** brings the computer back to our store we will authenticate his Windows version. This should take less than 30 minutes. Just let us know when he will be bringing it in.

Consumer's Final Response
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I became aware of the viruses the very first time I used the computer. The viruses was not allowing me to access even my gmail account.Microsoft has checked the Win7 software and say that it is indeed a non-genuine copy of the software.Micom left the non-genuine copy disc in the dvd drive.I sent it to Microsoft PID where it was examined and verified to be bogus.I am tired of this business trying to get out of their bad business.Microsoft is going to take action against Micom if I do not recieive appropriate compensation within 7 days from this date 7/1/2013. Thank You, *************

Business' Final Response
