I stopped by the dealership to see what vans they had in stock. I was looking for a passenger van. The salesman showed me a cargo van and told me we could add seats and carpet to the van to make it a passenger van. Once inside the showroom, the salesman told me that due to the shortage of available seats, **** would not sell the dealership any seats but that I could buy them from a 3rd party vendor and that his dealership would install the seats for us. He said he was able to order the carpet for the van and will install that for us. He looked up the carpet on their **** website. He showed me that the price of the carpet was $475 and the installed price would be $625. So based on the word of the dealership (that the van can be made into a passenger **** I agreed to buy the van. The dealership was in such a hurry for me to sign the papers so they can have the van sold. So based on their word, I spent $3500 to buy the seats and rails for the van. I also spent the $625 for the carpet and installation. Once the seats were delivered, I took them to the dealership to have them installed. After 2 days, I got a call from the service manager stating that I bought the wrong seats. I called the vendor and asked him to call the dealership. The service manager told him they have never done this before so he didn't know if the seats/rails were correct or not. The service manager also told me that the carpet was wrong and that the real carpet was $3900. I see this as classic bait and switch. Sold me $625 carpet, tell me its wrong after I bought the van and then asked me to pay $3900 for the real carpet. If I had known the difficulty in converting this van to a passenger **** I would not have bought the **** the seats or the carpet that the salesman sold me. I am wanting a full refund of the $625 for the carpet and installation I paid for. I additionally want a refund of the $3500 for the seats I paid for based on their guidance. It is all a waste now.
