            We were contacted by Intelligent Design Corp to check out the roofing on our rental properties in ********* after a recent storm. They asked if they could look at our properties and see if there was any damage and we agreed. We did not sign a contract at this point.After they inspected our properties, they asked if I would meet with them to review what they found. They showed me the inspection reports and asked to work with our insurance company. I agreed to let them talk to our insurance company and signed a blank contract that they said allowed them to work directly with the insurance company.Then, we didn't hear back and they wouldn't produce estimates on the work that they said would be done. We decided at this time not to work with them anymore because of the lack of information on their end. Now, we just received a letter from their collections agency for this in the amount of $13,395.64.

            This company is trying to scam me. I should’ve never believed them now I’m in a position where they’re harassing me to pay for the whole roof and my insurance company already paid them and now they won’t stop. I didn’t think they would keep harassing me after I gave them $5000 in cash. We should be at zero balance and now they’re charging me $700 every couple months in interest. This is so stressful on me and I don’t know what’s gonna happen.

            Hello,********************* signed a contract with Intelligent Design to complete the work, which was covered by the insurance company. The total cost of the job was $18,749.21, and this amount was sent to the insurance company. Intelligent Design contacted the insurance company to confirm that all payments had been released. The insurance company confirmed that they had sent $17,749.21 ($18,749.21 - $1000 deductible) to *********************, and she had cashed all checks. However, Intelligent Design only received $7,749.59 from *****. In our email communication, it was explained that insurance companies don't pay contractors; they pay homeowners directly so they can pay their contractors. We are not attempting to harass or scam *****, but rather seeking payment for the work completed by Intelligent Design.
