One of the biggest challenges in life is finding the best future care for a loved one. My biggest worry is no longer being able to care for my mother due to my own personal family responsibilities and to find an assisted living facility that meets my and my mother’s needs is paramount. Over the past two weeks, I visited other facilities and Westlake Woods (Erie, PA), was my last stop. Really, I should have stopped here first. The Director of Sales and Marketing, Jeanne ******, immediately gave me a tour (unlike the other places where the Sales Director was unavailable or I had to make an appointment). I felt welcomed and comfortable and overall the experience was very pleasant. The building is extremely neat and clean, the employees engage with the residents, and the meals look like a five star chef prepares them. Having previously worked in assisted living, I look for certain things including 1) A comprehensive activities program with engaging opportunities that meet the physical, social, educational, and spiritual needs of their residents, 2) Champion hospitality to deliver excellent customer service to the residents, and 3) How their team monitors and communicates changes in the residents’ physical, mental, and emotional needs. Westlake Woods passed my personal requirements. I highly recommend Westlake Woods for your loved one.
