I have mixed emotions about my experience. I expected much better that what I received. I thought I was hiring a reputable contractor with a lot of experience and an excellent record. The crew was nice and they did clean up pretty well. Unfortunately, my furnace flue was detached during the roof tear off process. The flue was attached prior to my roof replacement and I never had any previous issues with it. The roofers told me they found the pipe unattached when they replaced a piece of sheathing on the roof. Therefore, the roofing foreman said they put it back together and taped it up. I explained this to my local building official along with my concerns that my flue pipe on the roof still looked tilted. Being a single older mom with a disabled daughter I was not able to check this out on my own. I was told I should call a HVAC person come to inspect it. The HVAC company came and told me the furnace flue was not reattached correctly under the tape and carbon monoxide was leaking into my attic. The HVAC company did fix the issue. Unfortunately, they had to wait for JG Hause to come and break the seal on the pipe on the roof so they could pull down the pipe and lock it back into the BVent slot correctly. Then Jamie from JG Hause said they resealed the pipe on the roof. I asked JG Hause if they would at least help pay for half of the HVAC Repair bill. They would not pay half unless I signed a new contract saying they would not be responsible for anything more that may come up with the furnace flue. I refused to sign a new contract as I still have a rattle noise inside my wall and was told by the HVAC company that it is possible that screws in the flue pipe may have also become loose in other sections of the pipe. So I was left to pay the bill on my own and a rattling pipe. I paid my roofing installation bill in full in good faith hoping that JG Hause would make this right. Unfortunately, that was not the case.
