Complaint
Company refuses to address poor service and fraud from a former employee.
Contracted with employee of CGT in May 2011 for lawn regrading and sod. Job took all summer to progress and still was not finished Oct of 2012. Employee promised would finish immediately in spring of 2012. We asked repeatedly for a referral to another employee to finish the job, employee insisted he started it he would finish it. Job mostly finished and completely paid for in June 2012, but employee leaves town before finished. We contacted CGT after weeks with no contact from employee and were told employee had not worked there for a while and that someone would come out to address our situation (the yard was prepped and ready for dirt and new sod). However, no one came or returned a 2nd phone call. After 6 weeks had passed with no word from the employee or the company, we were force to hire another contractor to redo and finish the same job at great expense. We are frustrated that CGT would do nothing to help us as this employee was representing the company and was paid for a job that was not completed.

Desired Settlement
While they had their chance to fix the situation the employee created, we hired another company because they would not address the problem as they claim the employee no longer works for them. We are out $4,000 in materials/services that were not given and forced to re-do and demand they refund this portion of the bid.

Business' Initial Response
I can not reference any job contract to the name/address in complaint. I left a message at the number listed on 11/29/12 and 12/1/12. As of today there has been no response. We typically get a deposit and collect payment at completion of job; we don't collect payment in full for landscaping jobs. Everything is leading me to believe that the party mentioned above hired an idividual; not C.G.T. Limited.

We know of a scenario last year where a consumer hired an ex-crewmenber through a co-worker at her work. She had problems getting the work completed and called the C.G.T. Limited office to see what vendor that crewmember might have used for sod; hoping it was paid for and she could pick it up. I spoke to her personally at her first call. She was not implying that C.G.T. Limited had any liability and mentioned that she probably should have not given payment in full. Even though this was in no way a C.G.T. Limited contract, we felt bad for her sistuation and made calls to try to find the sod. We could not find any orders for the name/address. She also asked for a bid to finish the job. Again, we felt badly for her situation and left a message with a bid of around $2900 (basically at cost to help her out). We never heard back, so just assumed she had gotten a hold of the ex-crewmember. I am not sure if this is the same scenario.

Consumer's Final Response
The company has contacted me, it was the right one and we are working on the issue.
