    I purchased a Furnace, Hot water Heater and Air conditioning unit from Penguin Plumbing and Heating. This would have been approximately two years ago. (****************). The Furnace and Hot water heater are functioning and installed professionally. Originally the Air Conditioner Unit was to be installed at the same time as the Furnace and Hot Water Tank. They contacted me and explained that they did not have the unit in stock. (Although I asked if they had the equipment ready to install at the time and they said yes). I waited about a month for the Air Conditioner to arrive. During this time I was asked if I wanted a different unit. They said it was a better unit, I verbally agreed to this. The unit was install in July. I used it during the hot weather and then winter came. I turn the power off and covered the unit. In the spring around June, I turned the unit on and it was not working. After some time they eventually showed up to inspect the unit. I was told that it had no refrigerant. They charged it up and wanted me to pay for it. I refused pointing that it was new, hardly used, and if the refrigerant leaked it it was because it was not properly installed. Again, it seemed like about two months passed, and in August my new Air conditioner, no longer cooled the house. They returned, reluctantly, they fixed the issue. Again I turned the unit off and covered it for the winter. I recently had another company come and look at my Air Conditioner. They said it was bone dry and had a leak. They also mentioned it was improperly installed in their opinion and the unit was not suited for this climate. I would like to get the unit repaired, or properly installed. Is it possible you can help or advise me on this matter. My own dealings with this company have been time consuming and frustrating. Ideally I want to get the unit fixed but they really don't seem to want to do that but would rather charge me to fill the system every 3 to 4 months. *********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************** Recently I had *************** come in to inspect the Unit *************************************************************************** Basically, my air conditioner which I purchased in 2020 (was installed in mid Aug) only works for about two to three months as the refrigerant leaks out. Most likely because it was improperly installed. The pipe to the furnace and the fittings probably need to be replaced. Patching the leak does not work.

    Penguin contacted my mom who is a senior and offered her a new high efficiency furnace with all the bells and whistles and told her she would qualify for rebates and a low interest loan through MB Hydro. She accepted and the installed a new furnace. There were many issues with the furnace and installation including the fact that it did not pass the MB hydro inspection. Every time my mother contacted Penguin to come out and fix their mistakes they charged her a fee of at least $*** plus tax. They never once honoured their labour warranty, even when she had to replace the new HWT that they installed with the furnace. Five years after the installation my mother got a letter in the mail from a finance company. Turned out she didn’t get a low interest power smart loan. Instead they ******* her into signing a 15 year loan on the furnace they installed through a secondary company named ******* *********. According to the documents I found, by the time she is done paying for this furnace it will cost her almost $*********. We are definitely taking them to small claims court. **** ** * *********
