We bought a Spalding basketball goal on October 13, 2022. This was a gift for my son and was attempted to be set up shortly after. The first issue is that we were missing several "small" pieces. The company quickly provided the parts and I finished assembling the goal. Per the instructions provided by Spalding the base could be filled with just water or a combination of sand and water. From the time of first assembling the goal I noticed it leaked water at the caps on the base. I would consistently have to refill the base almost every day which is not normal. It finally fell and damaged the rim, backboard, and brackets. I contacted the Spalding Company on 3/3/23 notifying them of the issue and providing pictures as requested. This was still within their 1year warranty period. Spalding sent a replacement backboard, brackets, rim, and base. The base was the same design as the previous one. I advised the company I was apprehensive of receiving the same base as it might be a defect. Spalding informed me that they do not provide a new system and only provide parts. I reassembled the goal using the parts provided and it leaked from the new base in the same manner as the old base. I consistently filled it up until it again fell down causing damage to the backboard and rim. I contacted Spalding on 9/22/23 advising of the issue and included pictures. They were much slower in responding and said at first it was out of warranty but I advised them this was before the one year mark. They agreed to replace the parts again. I informed them I want a new basketball system as the base is clearly defective and attempted to speak with management on it and was advised I would receive a call back from management which I did not. I was informed on 11/17/23 that a replacement backboard, rim, and base would be sent out. To date I have not received these parts. I again submit a request for a new system as this system has clear defects that Spalding recognizes.
