Chinquapin Preparatory School provides a college-preparatory education
(grades 6-12) to able and motivated youth from low-income families in
the Greater Houston area. Students are challenged academically, and
every senior is accepted by at least one accredited 4-year college or
university as a requirement of graduation. In addition to academic
subjects, we offer art, video production, drama and computer skills at
various grade levels. The students also compete in basketball, soccer,
volleyball, and track, and each student is given opportunities to
develop a sense of responsibility and leadership skills through the
Student Leadership Committee, Chore-time crews, and athletics.
The school offers a range of programs and activities to further promote
personal, social, and cultural development such as: "Close Up", a trip
to Washington D.C., where students can debate with other students, visit
