I'm posting this for my wife's parents, my in-laws, suffering from dementia, that this company, clearly took advantage of. I produce radio shows dealing with the top nurseries in the Houston area so I know what it should cost to put in plants and fix a backflow preventer for a small 1800 Sq ft home with a postage size lawn. Maddox saw that the backflow preventer was in the process of being repaired, yet, instead of questioning it, Maddox just charged them 450.00 and another 150.00 to turn the sprinklers on "test" and walk around to see if they were working. To keep this short, she paid 4000.00 for plants, bushes and mulch, and labor of 1800.00 for all of this. Only to find out she owes another 2100.00 that SHE didn't even know (or remember) she agreed to. Steve ****** will tell you he asked them if they remembered him, since he used to live next door to them, and they did, but that was 13 years ago. If you know anything about dementia, it affects short term memory first, Steve! I don't usually write reviews, but when a couple in their upper 80s are taken advantage of, I have to speak up. This incident has caused a rift between our families that may not be repairable. I implore you to consider any other landscaper besides Maddox Pools and Landscaping. Please protect your elders.

This is in response to Chad ******* ****** review regarding Maddox's relationship with one of its customers. This review is clearly an attempt to attack Maddox Landscaping, a entity that has been in business for four decades. The allegations in this review are false and disparaging. Chad ******* ****** in laws first became customers of Maddox in 2007 when we were neighbors. Starting in 2019 to present day, his in laws have been weekly customers. We have never had a complaint. Recently our customers signed a contract and paid a deposit. Maddox honored the contract and once the work was completed to their satisfaction, we requested the balance. Maddox did not bill, request or collect any sum other than the balance due per the contract. Chad ******* **** claim that we charged $4,000, $1,800 and $2,100 are fictitious and a complete lie. The contract was nowhere near that amount. Not sure where Chad got his numbers. Since Chad ******* **** produces radio shows dealing with nurseries, he should be aware of the market conditions for our industry. Since the pandemic, material and labor costs have skyrocketed. Fast forward to the freeze of Feb. 2021. Since the freeze, quality plants are limited and many are out of stock. Wholesale prices on some plants, trees and materials have doubled. We've had to adjust our prices according to the market. Chad ******* ****'s in laws were charged no more than our thousands of other customers. To insinuate that I intentionally entered into a contract to take advantage of an elderly (mentally challenged) individual is malicious and actionable. My business was built over the past 40 years with quality work and honest business practices. That will never change. The BBB can review my documents to corroborate what I have stated above.
