I dropped my car off on Monday 7/17/2023 because the check engine light was on for the second time in a matter of a few days. (This shop had worked on my car on 7/7/2023 and replaced a cooling system thermostat.) I spoke to one of the owners, *****, on the phone later that day and he told me he needed to keep my car overnight to get a hose that was slashed (his words), replaced. ***** offered to cover the labor and I would cover the part. The car was ready for pickup the following day, Tuesday 7/18/2023. When my car came back to me I noticed a rather large scratch/**** on the front right bumper, there was also yellow/brownish paint transfer. The colors of the shop (bay doors, equipment etc.) at Square Deal Garage are yellow and brown. My partner and I spoke to the owners, ******* and ***** on a few separate occasions in the days that followed and I expressed my concerns regarding the exterior condition of my car as it was returned to me. I presented the evidence I had (paint color transfer and comparison to items in the shop, video footage showing my car did not have the **** on it a few days prior, and footage of my car coming back from the auto shop with the damage visible on the front). I would like to note, after 7/14/2023, I did not move my car out of the garage over the weekend until the morning of 7/18/2023, which is when I brought it back to Square Deal Garage for repair. Multiple attempts have been made to come to a resolution with the owners, prior to resorting to the submission of this complaint. The owners did agree to cover half of the cost of the repair work, however, they do not want to full responsibility as I see is rightfully owed. I would like to request assistance and to submit a formal complaint for the negligence I received while entrusting my vehicle with Square Deal Garage. For transparency, I have attached evidence as it relates to my statement above.Thank you for your attention to this matter.
