I used George Salet Plumbing to clear a main line problem in 2019 and was happy with the service so I called them again for the same issue last week. I was told that a technician named A*** would arrive between 2-4pm. A few minutes before 4pm, technician J*** arrived and told me he was replacing technician A***. I explained that the City DPW rep had come out to look at the sewer line and what that rep had done. J*** told me that I was mistaken and became argumentative. After another look at the sewer main he then could see what I had been trying to explain to him was correct. He became very defensive, raised his voice to me and said he was trying to help me. I asked him if it would be better if I called and had someone else come out and he said, "Yeah, you can call and ask for someone else" and abruptly left. I understand that it was probably the end of a long day for J***, but that's no reason to take it out on customers. I honestly don't understand why J*** escalated during the interaction as my demeanor remained fairly mild in response to his argumentative and defensive attitude.After he left, I called the company and the line was busy. When I finally got through, the representative said that she had just spoken to J***. I asked her if the person who came out in 2019 was available and was told he no longer worked for the company. The rep coldly said that the next available appointment wasn't until next week. I'm sure that J***'s side of the story is quite different than mine which likely influenced availability. I left a voicemail message for the owner as I wanted to advise him of the employee interaction. Since I did not receive a call back, I am writing this review. The technician could use some customer service training, particularly in listening skills.
