Boden Plumbing, Inc. Response

Ha! What an amazing lack of personal responsibility and integrity you have as a person. Point the finger at others much?
You called our plumbing shop with an emergency situation of a backed up shower drain at your vacation rental. We told you that we would arrive between 1-3 PM to take care of your problem. Since you would not be present, we told you that we could not start any work without getting verbal permission on the price of the work that needed to be performed. When you mentioned that you had a meeting, we clarified a second time that we could not move forward with any work without verbal permission. You agreed to be available by phone.
According to the *** in our vehicles, ************** ****** left his prior job at 12:33 to drive across town to your rental. He arrived at 12:48 and was on site until 1:15. When he arrived on site, he let himself in, identified the problem, and tried calling and texting you at 1:00PM. I tried calling you from the shop phone. You were nowhere to be found. Since ****** was on site for almost 1/2 an hour and was not able to get in contact with you, and he had no idea if you would be calling, he left the job site.
When you finally called back into the shop at 1:23, I let you know that I could get ****** back out the same day, but I would need to charge you $119 to try and recoup some of the time we had invested into your job already, (which was approximately 45 minutes). You counter offered that you would only pay me $50 for our time (so obviously you recognize you are at fault here), and you would be sure to use us in the future for all of your other vacation rentals. When I didn't agree to that, you threatened to go online and give us a bad review.
So to summarize this entire exchange: You called us with a problem, you agreed to a time for us to do the work, you agreed to answer your phone when we tried to call you. We tried calling you, you did not answer. We did not know when or if you would be calling back in, so we left. You finally called back when the tech was gone. We agreed to go back out to your rental and do the work but you would need to pay for the time we had already spent. You did not accept any responsibility for not answering the phone and put the blame onto us, offered us $50 for our time (so deep down you know you were at fault) and then threatened to give us a bad review if we didn't agree to your demands, hence the bad BBB review. You also stated that we charged you $119. We sent you an invoice for $119, which has not been paid.
I'm not sure what we could have done any better or differently, but it seems very ***** to give a hard working plumbing company a bad BBB review when they have done nothing wrong.
