      Speedy restoration came to my house due to a flood in April of ******************************** August of 2023 without informing me. I had some work done on my house through an insurance claim, they took $15,800, they didn't finish the job, my house is not livable, I lost housing that was given to me by the insurance while my house was being worked on. They did a terrible job of re-piping that was not authorized by the insurance company, and they are charging me for that, I should not be charged for un authorize work. They did a very lousy job. They left a bedroom unfinished, left a toilet detached, plastic wrapped around items that should not have been. There is water leaking from the kitchen sink and dishwasher because they were not installed correctly. Paint was spilled on the floor in the bedroom, and paint was poured down the kitchen sink drain.       My kitchen had flooded and I needed a contractor to put the kitchen back together. ****** (aka ***) initially seemed professional and responsive. Contract was signed in November 2022. I stupidly paid the contract in full before the work was completed. After that, I had to repeatedly follow up for any response. Weeks would go by before I could get anything scheduled. It is important to note that I had installed an electronic lock on my door so they would have access to my home when they needed. They had this free access through April, when it became clear the work quality was poor and needed to be supervised. In February, they tell me everything is done. I return to find that the baseboard looks like it had been ripped off and painted over, stove wasn't working, water won't turn on in the sink, garbage disposal and dishwasher won't work, trash chute door was sealed and can't be open, lazy ***** inside the cabinet was only partially installed (the top was detached and completely wobbly), there was some kind of gray putty sloppily spread around a pipe under the sink, holes along the caulking, cabinet restoration (paint, repair) that they charged me $8K for wasn't done. It was pretty ridiculous how many issues there were and how sloppy the work was. They also charged me for 12 hours of cleaning. Apparently, about 6 of those 12 hours included travel for the two people who were cleaning. Months go by again with me constantly having to follow up to get things scheduled. Most of the issues are finally resolved in July (after I threatened legal action) and they agreed to refund the money for work that was not done. The check ended up being sent to the wrong address. When I followed up, they would not agree to refund the money unless I signed a release. This is money due, so it is unlawful to require me to sign a release.
