      On April 6, 2024, I brought my 2013 Honda Fit for service. The check engine light had come on, and the *** gear light was blinking. Also, when I shifted into drive or reverse, the car jerked. I was told by a member of the service team that it would cost $260, and take about 3-4, to inspect the car. When I asked why that much and so long, he said that they don't just plug the *** tester and check the code, but that they visually inspect all the components that *** be causing the issue. He said that it was most likely a transmission issue and it would take time to inspect the transmission and its components. I dropped the car off at about 8:40 am. I received a call at about 1:00 pm from the same service member and he said that my transmission was broken, and that I needed a new transmission which would cost $7,500.00. I told him that I couldn't afford that; that is about how much I paid for the car. He replied that an alternative was to get me a used transmission which would be cheaper, but I decided not to get the repairs done, as I wasn't satisfied with their assessment. When I went to pick up the car, the same service member wouldn't tell me what was exactly wrong with the transmission. He seemed to be in a rush, wouldn't stop to explain things to me, and in passing simply said "two of your solenoids are done, and we found traces of metal in the transmission fluid."I bought an *** tester to verify the code for the failure. The *** tested printed only one code, P0962 Pressure Control Solenoid 'A' Control Circuit Low. Thereafter, I decided to visually inspect the Solenoids. It turns out that the cables for two of the control solenoid connector were broken. Luckily, I was able to patch the cables. I reset the battery and started the car, and the check engine light was gone and the car was back to normal. I would like to get a refund for the inspection, since obviously, they didn't do any work, otherwise they would have seen the broken cables, which caused the issue

      I believe there was a change of ownership sometime in 2021 and that is when this dealership went downhill quickly. We had taken our three Hondas to Honda of Oakland since 2011. However once the dealership changed ownership - the service department upcharged for unnecessary car repairs. (Told me that I had to buy new tires every 18 months for our 2012 Accord - just one example.). The service department would call and harass us stating our cars were in need of service. Literally would call 2x a day and leave voice messages. Even though we drive maybe 7k miles a year per car. I would ask them politely to stop calling and that didnt work. I literally had to threaten to bring in a lawyer to stop. Skip forward to 2023 and after the constant harassment (and outrageous prices of the various services) we got rid of ALL our Hondas and bought two new Subarus. Today, 5/3, was called again by Honda of Oakland and a two minute message with nothing but music was left. Because of the actions from the dealership I will NEVER buy another Honda.
