Ackard Contractors Ltd. was hired for renovation work including a new roof with new shingles, etc. That roof has been found to have numerous deficiencies and has started to leak. Last June (2021), months after the renovation was completed, a section of roof was found to be completely uncovered, just exposed wood/osb. The fascia then too was discovered to be installed incorrectly throughout where dented fascia was being replaced (under warranty work) and water had been infiltrating into areas like the porch ceiling. A section of eave was found at the same time sloped completely backwards and was not draining. Over this past winter the roof sprung numerous leaks around the house and into the interior. The contractor, Ackard, has insisted the leaking problem has nothing to do with the roof. They have avoided providing answers why their roof could have so many water infiltrating errors and why no inspections were completed during or after their subcontractors had completed work. They have continued to lay blame on other aspects of the building that fall outside of their scope of work while not answering questions about their building materials and processes. Ackard continues to avoid completing a roof inspection by an unaffiliated professional by placing conditional roadblocks that should the results indicate the roof is the cause of the leaks that Ackard would not consider the inspection comprehensive unless other building testing is also completed. My desired outcome is for a professional roof inspection to be completed by a company that has no affiliation with roofing repairs or sales that could be swayed by Ackard who subcontracts out their projects to roofing companies.
